I wanted the to keep the white wood under the low string, but when I started radiusing several soft spots appeared. I had to dremel them out like a dentist  which left holes that needed epoxy. I guess this is a well known fact but a bit of a bummer as it’s not quite the look I was after.

you could have mixed the wood dust with epoxy, that prob would have made it blend into the board a bit more.

Good idea dude, I’m happy with the epoxy as it is, just in hindsight I would have cut the white wood off and used all the brown.

How does it look after you've sanded the epoxy down?

Looks decent to me. Quite like the transparent thing. Notice the rather irritating new spot in the middle of the large patch  time for a bit more dentistry...

Yeah, don't worry. It'll look fine when it's done. Maybe use the dust trick next time.

Did you get that blank from FGW, mate? I just picked one up last week and it looks like it came from the same tree :)

I think i've expoxied practically ziricote board i've ever used. The spots on the fretboard that you're showing just look like ziricote grain :)

Frets in with a hammer and polished with a dremel, no epoxy cracks. Winner.
