The video just came out yesterday on youtube BUT, is it me or is that thing cringy as hell ?
    That video clip.... These lyrics...

What do you think about it ?

On a more musical point of view, i think the song is a bit boring but i guess it's just not my thing. It just feels a bit old to me.

It would be cringy if it wasn't his shtick, the same one he's had for over three decades.

Dreadful. He needs to hire a decent vocalist for starters but I think he's fallen out with all of them.

I'm not sure the slaves and work-gangs that birthed The Blues as a genre were thinking of it being used by fat white dudes cruising around in Ferraris when they came up with it...

Yngwie's gonna Yngwie. Saying it's cheesy is a bit redundant.

yngwie is the guitar equivalent of like, a very good reddit shitposter.

he doesn't do it, and ends up being cringy,
he does it BECAUSE its cringy.

Doesn't really do much for me. I have a feeling Yngwie's the one singing on this track.

He's actually a really shrewd businessman from what I've heard. He's been smart about owning his brand and besides an association with Universal, he's either self released or worked with Japanese labels who are more artist centric for the majority of his career.

He's owned his own studio for decades, so his overhead for making albums is low.

I've heard that he flips vintage Strats too. I know all the big shops in FL call him up right away when they get old Strats in and he typically buys them on the spot.

I think Yngwie sounds better without distortion on his guitar.:agreed:

Yeah as far as business goes not having a singer is one less expense. I remember reading that very early on he fired some singers because they got “big headed”. Read: wanting more money, drawing attention to themselves, trying to build their own brand/etc etc.

All stuff anyone hired to work with a famous musician would do for sure imo.

But a good session musician knows not to bite the hand that feeds by overplaying on someone else’s material.

Guitar tone is actually decent for once, his tone has been awful for a long time, the song just isn't very good, sounds like a blues jam with lyrics pasted on. Video clip likely costed him 200€ in fuel and not much else.

    Totally not surprising.

At one of his shows, in the middle of one of his guitar solos, he flipped the guitar to show me the Ferrari sticker. I had no choice but to acknowledge the Ferrari sticker.

I think Fire & Ice is a great song. This is Yngwie so what did you expect. The world need true guitar heroes. Doesn’t matter anymore what his new songs sound like. You don’t listen to new Rolling Stones songs either, that would be wrong.

Not the lyrics I was expecting, but I guess I'm stuck in the first albums's fantasy type content. The title alone makes me think of post VH DLR.

After Max's comment I looked up his net worth, and it's $7.5 million. Not bad for a dude that only guitar nerds like to worship/make fun of. I used to hugely be into his stuff. Now he's somewhat a caricature of his former self. But I suppose If I spent less time judging people online and more time practicing I could be as good when I'm 55 years old.

    p.s. I didn't realize the dude is 6' 3". Holy crap.

Isn't singing about convertible Ferrari's out in the sun over a blues track kind of a weird juxtaposition? It would be like singing about buying groceries and dry cleaning over a black metal track. I love Yngwie as much as the next guy, but let's at LEAST put some '80s hairmetal shred behind those lyrics.

"Well, my baby didn't done leave me,
She's right here on the couch.
We got a big screen TV,
And my bang account ain't no slouch."
