It has everything I'd imagine this board wants, aside from popularity.

Anyway, they're a band that came together out of an equally phenomenal band called The Postman Syndrome, and another group called Biclops. They play progressive metal on the harder end of the spectrum. Real progressive, not just floaty shit over chugs.

Here's some musics: Releases « East Of The Wall

They have a new record coming out soonish. Get into it.

They aren't well liked around here? That is indeed surprising. I enjoyed the hell out of The Apologist.

Been a fan of theirs for quite a while now. I'm also a bit surprised they don't get more attention around here.

I love them. The exact right blend of post metal and prog.

I guess it doesn't have enough sweeps.

I'm a huge, HUGE, fan of the previous work some of the members did under the moniker "Day Without Dawn"... The "Understanding Consequences" album is simply phenomenal... But for whatever reason, "East of The Wall" itself never really clicked with me... I should try again. I remember finding it pretty boring, but another listen is probably due. Maybe with the newer material, perhaps...

I think it has a lot to due with their lack of self-promotion and online presence. While EOTW receives generally positive album reviews, I rarely read/see them giving interviews. And I don't think any of their individual members use social media and forums to connect with fans either.

They're awesome. I was surprised they didn't get love here either. No lyrics about dreams I guess.

never really sat down to listen to these guys, which is surprising, post metal is one of my favorite forms of metal.

Though, doesn't their bassist play bass for revocation now?

You are correct. It's kind of a shame because he doesn't get to show off his chops nearly as much in Revocation.

Their new lineup isn't bad though. They've released one new song (I'm Always Fighting Drago) so far and are recording a new album.

because they actually write music which requires the audience to pay attention to some degree rather than have open chugs and lead sweeps and 808s.

also they don't over produce their records so the lazy ear actually has to pick out the layers of awesome that are this band

For what it's worth, all the material released that he's recorded on was written before he was in the band according to David Davidson. Including the self-titled.

I expect we'll see more crazy bass once Brett is a part of the writing process.

I've never heard of them (don't stone me) but they sound pretty good. I'm a huge ISIS fan and that's kind of what I hear going on from the small bit I listened to .

I can't enjoy their music as much when I ain't in the right situation, or frame of mind. But, when I do get there the experience is always really good.

Ressentiment is an awesome album of theirs, and their new shit is released on my birthday so it better be good!
