I've been convinced by my tech purchases over the last five years or so that the tech companies have given up on user focused features, and have decided that we're all addicted enough that they can now focus on data aggregation and egregious anti-user features to benefit ad serving. My newer laptops make me miss my older laptops, my newer phones are worse as far as usability, I'm loath to replace my iPad because everything newer seems to be worse. Even though I like my Apple Pencil for sitting and doodling my ridiculous art, and would love to upgrade to one of the newer ones for that purpose, Apple Intelligence being shoveled into everything makes me think it'll probably be a trash experience.

It feels a bit like we've hit the technological peak as far as humans are concerned. Now we're concentrating on making the world "better" for the broligarchy and their AI pets, us end-users can suck it.

I love the convenience of my wireless buds, but I resent the manufacturers for eliminating the jack. It's be one thing if they at least included the headphone USB dongle (bonus points if it's a split USB-C + Aux > USB-C splitter so you can charge and listen), but the fact thay they removed them and tell everyone to go fuck themselves is annoying. I only really use wired headphones on flights, which is an edge case, but I at least still want the option. My personal phone still has the jack and I know I'll likely miss it when I eventually get a new phone.
Yeah for daily, regular usage I don't mind, but it drives me absolutely crazy whenever I want to play drums because to get audio into my drum module I need an Aux connection.
I bought an Aux / USB-C adapter when I finally gave up and got a phone without the jack, but the volume level with the adapter is way screwey so I had to retune my entire set of mixes. And now because there's an adapter in the mix it's way easier to accidentally pull a cable out. Thanks, I hate it.

Count me in the 'phones peaked with the Note 9' camp. I went through 2 of them and had a damn hard time resisting a 3rd. Instead I got a zFold 4 because the tech was cool, and it is a neat phone, but I miss my Note 9.

Just 16. Don't really see the benefit of the pro model to be honest

Everyone should have switched to bluetooth headphones by now. This was me when I did:
While I felt the same initially...I've since turned around. Far too many times, I've reached for them and had the batteries not charged enough for that listening session, and then had to switch back to wired, which for the same price sounded better. Now I'm slowly replacing my wireless with wired again as the wireless die or don't hold charge (which will be all of them, eventually), but will still keep my one for the noise cancelling for flights.
