What was expected to be an easy transaction is now on day 2 since it was started on a Friday and finance stops on weekends. The only solace is the banks have proof of transfer initiation per side.

New phone is horrible. Everything takes forever, it's the size of a dinner plate, and every action that was easy on the last phone has been made slower, more difficult, and less reliable. I genuinely cannot believe people have been living this way and not complaining about it. Over a grand flushed down the drain to make my life worse. Fantastic. Maybe I'll quit using my phone so much from now on.
What did you switch to and what did you have before?

Android Gang roll up, I have no issues with my Galaxy S24 just sayin.
I'm with LTT's Linus: I just want a new Note 9, with enough horsepower to run the newest version of Android, modern battery, same screen size and res but a bit brighter, a bit more RAM, and keep the "active" stylus. I'll ride this thing until it dies, or I do.

I bought a first generation iPhone SE in 2016. I still use it as my personal phone and I’ve had the battery replaced numerous times to that end.

My new job gave me an iPhone 14 and I hate it. It is just way too big. It’s closer to a small tablet than a phone. I shouldn’t need two hands to type on it! Fortunately, I barely have to use it.

I am typing this comment on an iPhone 13 Mini that I bought two years ago because it was the smallest new phone with widespread technical support I could find. I only bought it because I needed something to put my music collection on and Apple had discontinued the iPod Touch before then.

Phone companies keep adding features to phones and jacking up the prices, but who tf is asking for these features? Who asked for face recognition and the fingerprint scanner? Who asked for Apple intelligence? It sure as fuck wasn’t me.

About 2 years ago I went from a Pixel 4A to a Samsung A14 because my Pixel got smashed and couldn't hold a charge and a number of other issues, and holy shit was it a surprise how much larger Samsung unnecessarily makes their phones; like, do people actually enjoy it being this large? It's cumbersome IMO, and I want to go back but I'm just too lazy (and cheap) to change what isn't broken.

I think my work is giving us all phones, and if that happens, I might just opt to go back to a flip phone honestly; at a minimum I'm removing all social media apps off my smart phone so I don't feel the need to constantly look at it.

I got a pixel 9 recently. The only thing I hate about it is that my old Pixel had a headphone jack and this one doesn't. Now I can't use my Sennheiser mke440 with my phone dammit

I had a tablet sized phone as my first smartphone back in ~2011 and by the time I switched to iPhones in 2014, phones were small again. I thought we had all learned from the gen 1 android phones that most people don't like big phones, and people who do are willing to pay extra for them. I've held people's 11's and 12's and both were smaller than the 7/8/SE3, so that's what I thought I was getting into here. Nope, the 16 is huge and like 1.5x as thick too. I can't even imagine how big the max version is.

It's especially sad because I've generally been pretty blown away by Apple tech, even stuff I thought would be a gimmick. I love my airpods, and I was surprised to find that my apple watch was the coolest little gadget ever when I got it a couple years ago. Love my macbook as well. This phone feels like a huge miss to me in the most baffling ways.

Didn't realize Android phased out headphone jacks. Gave Apple so much shit over that.

16 or 16 Pro?
Just 16. Don't really see the benefit of the pro model to be honest

Everyone should have switched to bluetooth headphones by now. This was me when I did:

If it is acting slow, could it be going through a system of cataloguing? Does it feel slightly warm? In the past when I’ve occasionally updated to a new temperamental iOS or moved to a new device, it can take a while (a few hours to a few days) to sort itself, and a telltale sign is that it will be draining battery pretty rapidly or feel slightly warmer than usual.

Still rolling with my S10+

I've dropped it thousands of times, back of it's all cracked, I rarely power cycle it, and the thing is still f'n nails. I prefer doing work on mac computers, but for phones I'm android for life.

I still got a headphone jack.

I only ever go with the regular Pro’s when I upgrade and for what it’s worth, the Pro’s are smaller than the standard models (excluding the Max, obviously) haha.

EDIT: I looked and I guess that changed with the 16 models, the pro is slightly larger. They USED to be smaller, my bad.

I love the convenience of my wireless buds, but I resent the manufacturers for eliminating the jack. It's be one thing if they at least included the headphone USB dongle (bonus points if it's a split USB-C + Aux > USB-C splitter so you can charge and listen), but the fact thay they removed them and tell everyone to go fuck themselves is annoying. I only really use wired headphones on flights, which is an edge case, but I at least still want the option. My personal phone still has the jack and I know I'll likely miss it when I eventually get a new phone.
