Man this is the best. The interviews that got my best performance were absolutely the ones where they didn't really matter to me. Like yeah I want the job, that's why I'm here, but I'm just fine where I'm at; so I'm not gunna walk on eggshells or worry about giving perfect answers or anything like that, what you see is what you get, take it or leave it. GL bro :metal:
That nervousness can really assist in bombing an interview. Last job offer I had was the same way. I wasn't desperate for the job and so I went in with a fairly relaxed ( albeit professional) demeanor. I was honestly surprised that they called me back and were actually willing to match what I was currently making. I wasn't expecting that but apparently they were impressed. In the end I declined the job but yep... being yourself and not having that anxiety can do wonders for making a good impression.

My voice has been fucked up for weeks and had a really frustrating, discouraging rehearsal on Friday but we made up for it and then some on Saturday. Our covers are really coming together and I was feeling really confident and in the zone with my singing. I'm even playing two whole-ass guitar solos which is rather out of character.

About time, too, our Cover Up gig is on Saturday and then we have a gig playing our regular set the week after that.

Feels good to feel like I've got my shit together.

Trying to find the positive:
I've been so sick that i don't feel like eating, and I'm too out of it to exercise or really do much more than lay on the couch wrapped in a blanket sweating through it. I go to bed early since I can't think of anything worth staying up for, but since I'm not wore out I don't sleep and spend the whole night doing some weird gymnastics routine that would probably net me straight 10s in any judged competition. Result:

Lost nearly twenty pounds in four days. Lowest weight since the holidays!

The shits / puking is one of the few symptoms I'm not displaying currently. Though, you know, if it'll speed up the wait loss!

No, really, I'm good with just being too stuffed up to think. Don't take that as a challenge, life. Please.

Holy hells, I must be sick to have misspelled "weight" with "wait." WTF? My inner editor must be taking the brunt of this shit.

One of my coworkers gave me a free Yamaha Acoustic and with it today. It was his old guitar and he was like "You're THE guitar guy here, you should have this." Was extremely thoughtful and put a big smile on my face.

Found a nice free football today.

Have two dates like up for the next couple Fridays.

I had an interview earlier today and feel really good about it. It was nice to go into an interview and actually feel aloof instead of pretending like I don't really want the gig, so that helped me to not stress out over it. It's a lateral move within the company but it'll be something new, and I won't feel like I'm completely useless and on the verge of being let go like I currently am, so that'll be a plus. If I don't get it, oh well, I'll just keep looking out for relevant job postings and it was a good way to shake off the 4+ year cobwebs since my last interview.
Was thinking this morning if I would hear back about this in the next few days since at the end of the interview the manager said they'd decide by end of this week. I looked up the manager in Teams and saw he was on vacation until Apr 7th so I was a little bummed that I wouldn't know for another couple weeks. At about 2:30 today the other manager from the interview (company policy is that they always do interviews in pairs) messaged me and asked if I had time for a quick call: cha boy got the gig!

On the way home when I was telling my partner about it she was asking about the new team. After I said they sit on the same floor I'm currently on, she asked "so what's really changed??" to which I said "Besides the new responsibilities, I basically get a new desk." Had a couple drinks when we got home to celebrate my new desk.

Got tasked with making a "Live Activity" lock screen widget thingy (including the dynamic island thing that new iOS devices have) for one of our apps. I was a bit afraid because it involves writing native iOS code (which is not exactly my area of expertise), but to my surprise it was really easy and the widget ended up looking really nice. And the Android part of the code already had the functionality, because Android requires background tasks to show a persistent notification, so all I had to do there was to style it accordingly.

My band played a cover show last night with 7 other bands. It was a long day and we were last but there was still a big crowd and we shut it down in style. We were loud and tight and my vocals sounded really good, and most importantly everybody had a great time and we converted a few new True Widow fans.

Also our first show my voice coach has come to, so that was cool.
