It's that time of year, and after seeing Nightmare Before Christmas for the thousandth time today, with my 6 yr old, but for the 1st time at the cinema (my local Vue is showing loads of Xmas movies in December.) Thought this thread would be timely.
So what are the Movie or TV shows that are tradition for you every Christmas?

Few of mine are,

Muppets Christmas Carol
Mickeys Christmas Carol
Alistair Sims and Albert Finney Scrooge
Scrooged
Chuck Jones How the Grinch stole Christmas
The Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch one)
Die Hard 1 & 2
Jason & The Argonauts (harryhausen one)
Clash of the Titans (harryhausen one)

Die Hard will always be my top Christmas movie. Gremlins 1 and 2 are also great, and depending on my mood, Home Alone 1 and 2. Other greats are Batman Returns and Iron Man 3.

Throwing in Eyes Wide Shut. Saw this during the 2020 Christmas period with my film buddies and ended up appreciating it a lot more.

Gremlins
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the really old one with Boris Karloff)

Scrooge (the really old one, with Albert Finney)

Holiday Inn (with Bing Crosby)

If you're still feeling festive after those

Christmas Vacation
White Christmas
Krampus
Any of the old stop motion ones.

A third mention for Gremlins. The Phoebe Cates “Why I Hate Christmas” soliloquy is one of the great moments in cinema.

I always make a point of watching the original Black Christmas every year. It's thematically festive in a broad sense.

So far this year we've watched:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
It's a Wonderful Life
Nightmare Before Christmas
Elf
Polar Express
The Nativity
A Christmas Carol with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart (1938 version; the best in my opinion)
A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott (1984; the second best version)
Miracle on 34th Street
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey version)

I think last year was the first time I saw Elf. I saw home alone for the first time last week. Gremlins is a great movie. But if I had to choose my favorite it'd be A Christmas Horror Story. I do like some Christmas themed episodes of Family guy (road to North pole) and the Christmas episode of King of the Hill where Hank and Bobby drive the semi. Aqua teen hunger force had a couple Christmas episodes I thought were awesome. "The reason for the season is pleasing!"
