For me right now personally it would have to be PUBG, how about you guys?
My all time favourite is very old, but Privateer by the people who made Wing Commander was the game that stuck with me the most. For modern-ish games, I still really like the new Doom quite a bit, partially thanks to the awesome soundtrack.
+1 for the new Doom, in terms of current favorites, but also the original Doom.
I've realized not too long ago that most of my favorite games tend to come from the whole '0451' kind of designs. Thief 2 was definitely a favorite when I was younger, and the Deus Ex games have always been on the top of the lists for me. Really enjoy stuff like Dishonored, and Prey. In terms of more 'classic' games, the Monkey Island games are the obvious choice for me.
I also do love the new DOOM. So much fun...and it's hilarious how good it is because the multiplayer early release was sooooo bad. It's really the only "modern" game I play.
If I'm going to sit for a just a little while of casual gaming, it'll probably be some sort of Galaga-clone of tower defense game on my phone. If I'm booting up my computer to emulate something, it'll likely be Super Mario 2, one of the Mega Man games, or a Sonic game. I just finished beating all of the NES Contra, so I'll likely continue my way through the series (I did the same thing with Mega Man last year).
old games: probably final fantasy or a link to the past or ocarina of time.
current favorites: PUBG, Shadow of War, Dishonored 2
It'll have to be from eras, because there are greats each generation and I can't just pick one:
SNES: Link to the Past
N64: Ocarina of Time
PS1: Final Fantasy VIII
PS2: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver II
Xbox 360: Dark Souls
PS4: Since this is the system that I play now, it's hard to really give you a definitive answer since I play many different games currently, but with a gun to my head, Bloodborne.
All time favorite: Halo 3.
Other favorites: Dark Souls/Bloodborne, Destiny, Horizon: Zero Dawn, CoD Black Ops 1+2, Guitar Hero 3.
Honestly, Tetris games. I can play it at any point in my life and have fun. Except the EA mobile version, but we don't speak of that.
But my favorite game since last year has been Overwatch, but it's only great when you have a cool team.
I spent a toooooooooooon of time with Majoras Mask, so I'd have to put that on the list. Ocarina didn't resonate with me in the same way because I didn't play it until much later in life.
Metal Gear Solid (1-2-3-4-5)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Just the amount of ways you can approach the gameplay is crazy. Pro tip: You can use poisonous animals as indirect kills and it wont count against you.
Witcher 3 and The Fallout series
Oh believe me, my choice isn't a dig at Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask was and still is an amazing game. I just played Ocarina of Time a shit ton. I should probably have put my close seconds up there, because Majora's Mask definitely was. Might sound corny, but my favorite part of that game was turning into a Zora and swimming through the ocean and such.
For the past several years its been Splatoon for me. First Splatoon on the Nintendo Wii U and now Splatoon 2 for the Switch.
The game that I remember having the most fun with has to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I bought it in early summer 2010, so pretty late after release. Me and two friends ordered it together, one copy each. Then it took longer than expected to get it. I remember my friend coming over, an hour after we finished the last day of school before summer break, and handed my copy to me. Then most of the summer was spent playing that game.
Honourable mentions are: The first Halo triology, CoD: World at War, Super Mario Sunshine (my first own game), Borderlands 1 and 2.
These days I really like the new DOOM, and during the last couple of years I've been playing a lot of custom WADs for the old DOOM games. My favourite so far has been Community Chest 4 by the Doomworld community.
Baldurs Gate 2 or Fallout 2 or Fallout Tactics. I like to do a play through of each every second year.
Anything Bethesda put's out
The Mario Worlds are pretty good for old school.
I liked the Hitman series & old killzone. MW2 and MW3 are classics as well
Horizon Zero Dawn & Battlefield 1 are my newer favorites.
Edit: forgot about Borderlands Best game ever.
I played that and kingdom hearts on PS2 for hundreds of hours. Easily one of my favorite PS2 era games. I loved blowing up the weapons depots so that enemies would only have knives or doing a no-kill run (that was really hard to do against the fear).
I remember I almost refused to complete MGS3 because I didn't want to do the last fight.
