The other night I was playing Hell Let Loose. I was shot, and a medic named "Taco Bell Employee" army-crawled over to heal me. Right before he did so he whispered to me over proximity chat, saying "...I love you."

Good times only.

Got through Morgott. Didn't expect weak foe.

The first cave I ever went into was Highroad, the one with lots of platforming + bats. That was a bad idea. As a rule I hate platforming, but for the most part haven't minded it too much in this game.

Since this is the unnoficial Elden Ring thread again, had some time to play yesterday. Went back to the capital. Trying to properly explore this time. Cleaned out most of the stuff I could find in the entrance / above-ground area before you get to the underground stuff. Found the underground stuff. Did a bunch of the dungeon-y place up to killing Mohg the Omen. That seemed to open up a wacky deeper-underground area with a bunch of guys with arrows stuck in 'em. Saved there, and will probably explore whatever is down there later tonight.

Just downloaded Mortal Shell on PS4 as it was added to PSPlus, my DS friends seemed to really enjoy it. I'll report back.

I'm still replaying RDR 2, just fucking around with absolutely no rush and I'm finding a lot of little missions, conversations, random encounters and stuff that I either I don't remember or never found before.

I have like 180 hours logged from my previous playthroughs, and my memory is usually very good, so that's a little surprising. But, to be fair, I spent maybe 1/3 of those 180 hours gunning random people, policemen and pinkertons. You can't spell Arthur Morgan without psychopathic murder spree IMO.

Finally gathered enough courage to take another shot at Dark Souls, this time the remastered version. So far so good.

I utterly hated what I played of that game just cause I couldn’t deal with its combat. You’d have to fight tons of enemies in a row and there was practically no healing available. Obviously you were supposed to “harden” to absorb damage, but it was way too unforgiving in the early game. Maybe I’ll try again some day but I doubt it.

Haha already pretty much at that point myself. It feels a bit clunky and slow.

I didn't realize how deep the ER hooks in me were, but I really wish I could go full Ted mode and just take a vacation and play  Now that I'm getting closer to the point where I was before, officially into Caelid last night, cleared Gael Tunnel and Putrid Avatar (forgot how shitty his world placement is) along with going back and clearing a different evergaol with Bloodhound in it. Found Seluvis's dungeon and then met up with Sellen at WAYPOINT, not Witchbane, Ruin so I'll further that tonight too after I find the Starlight Shard or whatever it is he's looking for.

From what I read it gets better once you get the other shells. But the early early game was just dire. You moved around like a tank, enemies could smack you easily cause you moved like molasses, you were supposed to time that Absorb thing when they'd attack so you wouldn't take any damage, but there was some kind of cooldown on it so you really had to time it right. Considering you'd have to fight like 20-30 enemies in between save points, it was way too much time that you had to play flawlessly. It was like dark souls if rolling was clunkier and you had no estus flask.

IIRC there were healing items but they healed like 1/5 your HP and they were plants that regrew on a long timer so you never had more than like 2 on you.

I like that. He seems like a fun guy. I mean, too bad about his work ethic and the fact he'll NEVER finish GOT and it will be surprising if we even see the sixth book, but I don't blame him. If I had just had my most prized series of books adapted, functionally sequelized by different "authors" which turned into something that all the fans hated, and then I was given the choice between cashing easy paychecks and hanging out with various celebrities for the rest of my life or trying to live up to the unrealistic expectations of thousands and thousands of book zealots...I know what I'd choose!
I live in Boston. As such, I feel COMPELLED to point out that all "good" female characters are described as "youthful," have small boobs and perky nipples and girlish figures, and all "bad" female characters are have heaving bosoms and curvy hips and are "mature" and "wanton," and it's creepy as fuck. YANKEES SUCK!!!

Soooooooooo I went into the room with the flame-y fingers and now I'm branded. Supposedly this locks you into a particular ending, but I hadn't intended that, and it seems like you gatta do a lot of work to undo it. If the content of the game is 99% the same except for that ending choice, I might not bother, but the goal really is to see as much of the "meaningful content" in a single playthrough as I can, if that makes sense.

if it's the door i'm thinking of, you need to be naked. but it'll lock you into a specific ending unless you do a very long questline, so beware

:squint:

yeah you have to do millicent's entire questline and kill malenia to get the needle to undo it in placidusax's arena, which isn't the easiest feat

I'm not too upset about it, as long as it doesn't lock me out of any content. In the meantime, I got the second half of that medallion that gets you to the HalitosisTree or whatever it's called. And I think I've managed to explore everything in the capital area that I wanted to. Time to move back on to the "main" task/quest for now I guess.

I’m curious how the main quest progresses cause your companion leaves if you get branded, but she’s also the one that burns the erdtree. I’m guessing it doesn’t really end up mattering, but it seems like it SHOULD lock you out of the final bosses if you get branded before that point!

You burn yourself and Melina swears to kill you with destined death

That said, it doesn't really change anything except the ending achievement/cutscene you get

Officially fighting Radahn, I'm having more trouble just timing dodging the arrows to get TO HIM, then I am by the time I actually fight him up close.

I forgot how much I hate this fight considering when I get here, he can still one shot me even at 1K HP. I can get his health down to his name while the summons work on him to distract me for using LGB but it's still a gamble as not every shot hits, and the time to cast is long.

He's officially dead, took him down at level 71 with a combination of LGB and Glintstone pebble during Phase 2, pretty underwhelming victory considering how much chaos is going on when you fight him
