Thoughts on the Crate Blue Voodoo?

    Good amp, found the 60w was a little under powered but the 120w had lots of headroom. Run it with V30's and make them sing.

    Crate bashing is always trending in the guitar community. :noway:

    Just like any tube amp...
    Proper setup/maintenance, choice tubes/bias, and good speakers.

    I had the 60 watt head for a short stint.
    It was a fine high gain tube amp.

    I'm not bashing it, but I would honest rather have my old solid state Supreme 160 head for around the same price range. The Crate just seemed so thin to me.

    It seemed thin to me as well until I started messing with the settings a bit more. For high gain dropped tuned stuff it sounded pretty good. Cleans were pretty nice too. The presence control I left it nearly at 0 though. I didn't get to try it with effects though, so that left me wondering

    Recorded this while I got to use it. Simple riffs , no leads or anything, it didn't feel right playing leads with no reverb or delay
