Peak Bulb/Periphery will always be 2008 for me because I ran into Casey Sabol after a Meshuggah (I think?) show in LA wearing one of those super old black and white lightbulb with wings shirts and he was like, "I probably got paid from part of that." At first I thought I was going to get jumped because he started the convo with, "Hey! What's up with the shirt..?" and as someone who mainly listened to the soundcloud instrumentals, I had no idea who he was lol.

And I'm glad I was a broke college kid back then because otherwise I definitely would have thrown everything I had at getting a Sherman and that probably would not have gone well. And related to that... lol

I was on the forum back in college when it first started but was mostly inactive and didn't make a new account until about 14 years ago.

Some highlights from the past 10 years or so:

Left-handed juggernaut kid
MetalHex's sun cult rants
Abasi/Falbo business deteriorating in real time
Insane catfish experience with Yellow/Jeries - complete with a "Mitch Conner" style reveal/admission at the end.
BJR black friday fiasco
DirtyPuma/Rusti thread
"Kiesel - Never Again!" being an extremely active thread for like 3+ years
Vejichan's posts - Epic trolling or no short-term memories from a massive head wound?
As soon as the first gen WyldeAudio guitars were dropping, Marcwormjim posted a NGD unboxing post with a life-sized LEGO version.
DrewH schooling the forum on the the distinct differences between concrete and cement

I'm old enough that I can vouch for the existence of 56k. Hell, I remember the Apple IIc I learned (very basic) programming on, the Commodore 64, the first Macintosh. Those were probably the days of 9.6k dial up.

Dirty Puma!

How did we forget?
Oh I definitely remember dial-up 56k, I just don't know if I ever logged on here on one. Maybe some time visiting my parents, but I think even by then they were on broadband.

Way back in the day I remember not being able to use the internet when my dad was on call, unless it was for school and if so I had to be quick and be sure I could hop off in a moment if he had a page to answer.

Don't forget that ss.org would also entice people to join by mailing them stickers for cheap, it worked for me lol
