So I've been wanting to watch The Kingsman for a while now, finally got around to it, watched the first two, but not the prequel. They were very good movies, IMHO, but there was one thing that ruined it for me as a native born Texican...

Nothing against Pedro Pascal, or Internet Daddy as I believe he's refered to these days...but in the words of R Lee Ermey, "What is that??? What the fuck is THAT???" While on one hand, that was a damn good movie, on the other, your gonna spend millions of dollars making a movie and not even google how to shape a cowboy hat? The same thing with Ford V Ferrari....spend millions trying to be historically accurate, you usually get a complementary shaping when you buy a cowboy hat.

But I shouldn't be surprised...the first Kingsman movie tried to turn a chav into a gentleman and then turned around and said Oxfords have open laces, when in all actuality derbies have open laces, Oxfords have closed laces. You would think a movie who makes bespoke clothing a plot point would do a cursory google search to make sure said clothing is actually bespoke

Maybe it's just me, but it takes me out of the movies as much as if the main character was supposed to be playing a sick metal riff and the show him just banging out some power chords.

Never thought I'd say this but I wish there would be a better selection of low-alcohol beers on the market. I mean, non-alcoholic beers (0.01-0.05%ABV) are no fun and taste awful but for example, my corner shop had this great IPA that had 2,5% ABV but they took it off the selection for some reason.

Nothing like drinking some beers on a hot day like today, but I have to be at work at 6am tomorrow so I don't want to or even can't get too fucked up. Maybe I should just make some homemade radler (basicly beer mixed with Sprite)....

Preach. With ipas in particular they seem to love going as high of abv as they can. Even the "session" beers are like 4.5 percent, which is like still north of a budweiser.

So I had to mail a cashier's check to get this blasted apartment since they wouldn't let me do a wire transfer online.

I mailed it Saturday express. It's currently sitting in Memphis showing as delayed with no eta on a delivery.

Why...am..i...not...surprised. I figure it's 50/50 on them losing it.

So my wife locked her keys in her car, and I spent two hours trying to get it unlocked with household stuff. I was motherfucking it and said this is the most trouble I've had breaking in to a car and was reminded...

So I was like sorry....doing unlicensed locksmith work, or white hat car thief. I know how to break into cars because I locked my keys in my car a couple times when I was poor, and saw a profit in that when I was in college. Like, helping people that locked their keys in their car, not stealing cars.

How is it that right now I'm making the most money I've ever made in my life, but it seems like I have money problems more often than when I was only making $10-12 an hour. Oh ya...it's because the government is so fucking incompetent they're making people think fucking communism is a good idea.

Call me a libertarian if you want, but if the majority of the people ruling a country are around the age where they wouldn't be hired for any other job because of how old they are...something or somebody fucked up somewhere. By the people and for the people, IMHO, means our leaders should be around the average age of the population, not old enough they probably went to school with the god they're trying to push down everybody's throat, or talking about "equality" when you're the party that started the fucking klan.

So I've posted about how my wife has given me shit about my accent before, and my daughter is so much my mini me she has the accent too.

She went to a pool party at her friends house, and called my wife (who put it on speaker phone because she was busy), because her eyes hurt (she got sunblock in them), but she has my drawl, so it sounded like she was crying because her ass hurt.

My wife had to hold me back telling me she said eyes, she got sunblock in her eyes, called my daughter back talked to her figured out what was going on, calmed down, you just never know these days.

Not quite sure what movie it was (something on VHS anyway, since we watched it numerous times), but me and mom always laughed our asses off when it sounded like they said "I saw it with my own ass"

Reminds me of the Richard Pryor movie The Toy..with the chick with the southern accent who kept calling her husband "You Ass" and he'd always say "It's pronounced U..S.."

My phone of 5.5 years has been acting up for months and was especially finicky with the USB C charging port for its own special One Plus fast charger. Today it finally stopped taking a charge from all my USB C chargers and cables. I'm glad everything was backed up on it, but it was very strange to slowly watch the battery drain until it actually died for good. Rest easy, ol' gal; ya did good.

Good thing I have a work phone.

Charging ports are cheap and there are a lot of tutorials on how to change them. The difficult part is gaining access without destroying the phone, with all the adhesives they put nowadays to hold it together to "make it more efficient and small". Not at all a way to make you buy a new phone instead of making it unprofitable to repair.

Maybe one day we'll be able to repair our own phones again. Hopefully the EU keeps suing the manufacturers into making less stupid/dickish decisions.

That's one of the reasons I use wireless charging when I'm at home. The port doesn't wear out when you don't yank cables in and out of it several times a day, and it also charges way slower which is good when charging overnight like I do.

I have a phone where the port shit out on me after like 3 years....now I only charge it wireless, which up until that point, I had never used before on a phone. Works fine. Just not the smoothest option if on the road for longer periods of time w/o plugging in a charging pad and finding a good spot for it.

Oh and I did some research on my model, too painful or expensive to replace the port. Can't remember, I have the special version where the port is not PnP onto the mainboard.

Yeah mine was a OnePlus 5T and from the time before wireless charging was an option, or at least not as ubiquitous.

Yeah, it's quite recent for me as well, and it was one of the reasons I ended up buying a flagship level phone instead of another cheap one (the camera was the main reason though, my family photos look like they were taken in a studio now).

I did have a phone that supported it already in 2013, but I would've had to solder the module in myself so I never did  It would've been really easy though, as said phone had replaceable back covers and the QI charging pins were intentionally exposed under it... I even bought the module and a charging pad but never did it for whatever reason, I guess I was just too worried about breaking it since it was my daily driver...
