They're awesome, but they get a lot of minus points for not offering roasted maple with their Slapshot or Arcade headstocks.

Huh? I was just looking at a roasted maple Arcade neck a few months ago... just checked, it's still an option.

Not sure why it's not on the slapshot.

Also not sure why some necks offer GITD side markers and some don't. Maybe it's just a website thing?

Is there another vendor offering spec necks with the hockeystick headstock who will do roasted maple?

The slapshot is too wide of a headstock to make it in one blank that they cut and roast. It would require them to glue on a wing and with roasted maple one piece necks they don't want the difference in color to be very apparent.

Meh, just get the reverse arcade. It's the best headstock anyway. I just wish they offered a seven in that configuration - roasted maple, with SS frets. But Warmoth isn't a custom shop, they are just a parts dealer. So far, though, I haven't come across much that I would want that other parts dealers offer that they don't, other than maybe an eight string option, but only the sketchy cheapie dealers offer those.

I can tell you this, it is a little hassle asking them to do Custom work other than what you see on their website. My son had to call and speak to "Spike" and ask for 5A Flame Roasted Maple and in particular "The Head Stock Shape?" [Kramer/Suhr].
What they did do was Cut the Stainless Frets "End to end" without filing [my son asked them not to] a great luthier friend did the fret level and worked on the Blue Warmoth, wonderful job. In this photo it's not to bad [early morning low light] as an example.

The 7-String guitar in the middle was built by TK Instruments, the same luthier worked on the Blue Warmoth, all around amazing job the guitar plays killer!

The Natural Guitar is another Warmoth which a luthier/friend of mine who's worked my guitars for over 20yrs, he does Amazing work though now retired.
Some years ago my son and I went to see Allan Holdsworth and he "signed" the back of the head stock, Very cool... small club amazing event.
