I hope not, even if that's wishful thinking these days.
Though, there's the continuous barrage of folks lamenting about their current equipment in search for what's hyped up, what's given the most validation at the moment among their peers. By the time they make the impulse buy, it's just another rinse/repeat cycle where they'll never be happy at that rate. Sometimes with sellers' remorse waiting in the wings because they didn't give the previous stuff their fair share of testing out, etc.

I bought the cheapest klon clone I could find that reviews said sounded the same for all practical purposes. Not my taste.

I had to laugh, because the moment I read these two posts, I switched over to Youtube, and this was the first video on my home page (no, not a conspiracy...I literally am subscribed to him, and it's a brand-new video)

There are just so many down-market Klon style pedals that get substantially close that the persisting boutique market (not to mention the originals market) just shows that some people have way too much money.

There are just so many down-market Klon style pedals that get substantially close that the persisting boutique market (not to mention the originals market) just shows that some people have way too much money.

I typed Boss SD1 clone in Google searching for some kind of cheap shit behringer type clone or something. Instead it's links to threads of idiots asking about "boutique" upscale expensive clones of an SD1.

It's such a frigging simple circuit too. Hell the tube screamer is super simple too. In fact they're reallllllly similar.
