stop trying to lump other midwesterners in with MN, this is the only godforsaken place that calls it hotdish lolWe do stage hotdish (or casserole for the non Midwesterners) and we'll talk your ear off for 3 hours when you're clearly trying to go home.
Can confirm, have zero idea what a hotdish is. And all I know about lutefisk is Cotton Hill burning down the church to cover Bobby's fish stink.stop trying to lump other midwesterners in with MN, this is the only godforsaken place that calls it hotdish lol
Also I prefer stage lutefisk

There are pockets of WI (not just the wast coast) that call it "hot dish", too.stop trying to lump other midwesterners in with MN, this is the only godforsaken place that calls it hotdish lol

Most of my family is from WI and I never heard that shit till I moved to the cities. There are pockets of WI (not just the wast coast) that call it "hot dish", too.
Yeah, just pockets. Family friends near Three Lakes (up by Eagle River) and Clintonville call it that, but that's all I've come across. But they are there, and not oroginally from Minnesota (at least not them, specifically...maybe their parents). Most of my family is from WI and I never heard that shit till I moved to the cities.
Weird. I have family from Wausau/Ashland/Milwaukee and none of them say that. I've never met anybody that grew up in WI that says it unless they spent time in the twin cities.Yeah, just pockets. yeah but that doesn't rhymeShins*
Also "bars"..... nothing like a plate full bars. The bars I used to play in Hammond and New Richmond definitely had "hotdish" clientele lol
Okay so what I find funny is that this is HUGE in Scandinavian and Finnish cultures, still, and that came over with immigration, obviously you're aware of heavy scandinavian and finnish immigrants came over to MN and WI. Weird that cultural stuff like that still seeps over. You guys are missing the point. There's no stage pie in MN because in MN tradition, you do not accept a piece of pie until you have been asked the third time if you'd like it.
