Why would someone buy one of these when you could buy a high end guitar from a known brand and know exactly what you’re getting?
Not to mention potential resale value.
Cheap guitar manufacturers who move to high end don’t often work out.

There will always be people who like new things, and traditionalists. I don’t think it would hurt his business even if it wasn't immediate success.

Yeah those tops are super underwhelming for a $4k guitar. The double cut looks awful.

Considering how underwhelming the guitars themselves are, they better have something that's actually worth it on the side for the sums of money they're asking for. Even ESP's US division has been a disappointment over tops in more recent times, too.

For example- automatically filing taxes without fail, picking up the mail, or solving life's mysteries like why anybody would ever consider Steve Terreberry's content enjoyable instead of outright punchable or Dane Cook's 'jokes' funny.

I picked what I think was the one really great top out of the first 10. I wanted something Dimebag-y, the used Dean and Washburn market is chaotic, and the RR inspired lower half appeals to me as a fan of offset Vs.

So basically I took a chance because it appealed to me in a way not many other current production guitars do.

THey are letting you pick the actual model you are getting? That's kind of neat if you can actually see the tops and pick so you get a less shitty top.

Yeah when you click to buy, it takes you to the available guitars, just like on the blemished sales page where you can see close up pics. It's only a couple but gives you a better idea of exactly what you are paying for.

There were 9 when the site stopped crashing yesterday, now there are 5. Guessing he started with 10 (one of which may be the one in the video).

Yup.

And it shows the serial number. So I was kind of tempted to buy serial number 1 but then I didn't like the top very much.

And there was a mistake where there were 2 tops I really liked, but I realized they were the same photos for both (probably a mix up when uploading them). Luckily I was able to see the serial well enough to confirm which one was the one I wanted.

I’m of the generation where non-traditional inlays were a rarity, so I like the inlays. But it isn’t anything special, design wise, and there are now 4.5 million guitars out there with it, so it’s nearly as ubiquitous as dots.
But the deal breaker for me is the horrible tops. At least the ones that are left over. I’m honestly curious why they didn’t end up with nicer ones.

What’s so bad about the tops on there? Also, this price for a small-batch, entirely handmade guitar from what seems to be one of Europe’s best luthiers (as far as I can tell) doesn’t seem to be unreasonable to me. I can see why people might balk at paying that from an unproven brand, though.

The price, comparatively speaking, isn’t too bad. The fact that I’ve never seen a less figured flame top is. Put a halfway decent flame on those and it makes all the difference in the world.

Good lord, there's more complaining in this thread than there was when I took my children to go on a hike last summer.
My favorite thing about guitar forums is people complaining about the specs on guitars they don't want and/or can't afford. They have absolutely no interest in buying one but they expect the guitar company to make a guitar tailored to their personal specs and give them for free...and they still wouldn't take it but they'll bash it online regarding the quality even though they've never touched it

Except I did buy one, and still agree that if the one I liked was sold out from under me I probably wouldn’t have bought one of the others.
