I am getting a Star/Voyager shape guitar made, and I am incredibly doubtful about what colour to make the builder paint it. I'm having a maple Strat headstock neck with ebony board and chrome hardware and chrome pickups, this might add to the debate, and he can only do a matte to semi-gloss finish, because he doesn't have too fancy of spray gun. That said, please show some of your examples so I can get some inspiration for my build. Pictures for attention. Thanks!

I just found this thread on lunch break. I have questions.

What is the difference between an "X" and a "star" shape on guitar?

Why are there so few stars on here, are they unpopular?

Why have I not posted mine yet? When I get home after work later tonight, I will.

I love the stars, and they’re super comfortable but the ones with single pups and the old school trems scream cheap to me. Floyd or GTFO

I don't think there's really a difference between X and star shapes. I see it as just two different names describing the same thing.
As for why there are so few..because this site is mainly super strat oriented.
