I’d sell mine with the painful acceptance I’d never find another one. They only made four JP7s and this is the only one that’s piezo-less.

Value will only increase with time. And there will still be fanboi collectors in the future.

I recall when the Ibanez JPMs with cool graphics used to be sub $2000 if you stalked a little. I actually want one of those more than the EBMMs, even though the Ernies are stouter and ultimately better guitars. But I guess it's memba berries again. Playing a JPM through a Mesa Triaxis rig would be more than a little nostalgic.

Here's a JPM listed for........$67,544. 🤡

This is, of course, STOOPID LAND. But some people live there. Non-Petrucci owned JPMs are often listed for well over $10,000. And the potential buyers are the same types who get dizzy about original "case candy". 🤭

Finally got around to restringing, cleaning, and conditioning the fretboard on one of my RG 7620’s. I used the stickers to cover up some big chips in the paint and decided to try and do the George Lynch Kamikaze thing, but with Evangelion.

Congrats on the aquisition! I love the Ember Glow finish, but it has always bugged me that the entire top isn't flamed. I suppose it makes some sense given the contours; it'd have to be an insanely thick top or would add a contrasting line that probably wouldn't look right.

Thank you!

Honestly, the shield is not really my favorite design choice (but I can live with it). The worst offenders are the 2023 models which are a black sparkle but with colored shields. Willcut Guitars are selling them at a discount (the one pictured below is 20% off!). Looks like EBMM got the hint after that year.

I really like the plain finish Majesties but they are harder to find used (and I didn't want to shell out nearly $3500-4000 for a new one). I paid $2300 for my used Enchanted Forest Majesty 6 and $2500 for my used Ember Glow Majesty 7 - both from Craigslist sellers. When a Majesty does show up on CL, it always has a shield and is never one plain color.

I think the ones that cost $5.5k have those thick maple tops you're talking about. Something mildly interesting: the sub-$4200 models have a shield that's only a few mm thick but not a chunky piece of maple but also not paper thin. Screenshot from a Premier Guitar video on YouTube where they tour the factory. The screenshot is slightly misleading - on the left, it looks like the veneer is paper thin but later in the video he holds it up and shows that the maple is already embedded. On the right, if you zoom in really close, we see that the maple has a couple mm of thickness.

Very nice! How do you rate the trem vs OFR or LoPro Edge?
It’s hard to make a rigorous comparison since I don’t do divebombs or whammy tricks, but I will say that it’s hard to make the Majesty go out of tune. I still need to tune it each time I play, which is not something I can say about the double locking Ibanez systems…makes sense because the EBMM is not double locking.

I rarely use the whammy despite all of Ibanezes having floating double locking terms. I really only bought them because I like to string bend a lot and they stay in the well. I bend a lot on the Majesty but I do need to tune it more frequently
