Nice. I have the GT150, the Hiwatt, a Reeves Custom 100, and an Ampeg NMV VT22 converted to a head. My favorite combo tbt is the Hiwatt or Reeves, and the Ampeg, because I can slather on some of the amp's awesome reverb.

I just added a KMA Wurm 2 for high gain distortion, and have used all kinds of fuzz and boost pedals through those amps, and each one of them sounds huge on its own, but in stereo it sounds huge on a totally different level.
I've been looking at either a Science Mother or a Reeves/Hiwatt. I've got other adult priorities before I drop that kind of cash on an amp but pretty well narrowed it down to those choices. I'm a grown ass man and I'm ready to buy a big boy amp instead of settling for whatever crusty shit I can find on craigslist.

Yeah that's what I've been seeing. Single channel 100w Mother is about the same price, I'm kind of leaning that way but I've got time to think on it yet.

An older hiwatt will hold value better, but Science Amps are LEGIT. I've played through a few and they're unbelievably good.

A friend of us lost a father recently and I got the task to sell a lot of guitars and stuff that used to belong to him pro bono.

I got to keep a couple of pedals as thanks for helping them selling the stuff. Turns out to be a MIJ vintage pedal. I'm not into phasers. But keeping this for fun.

Jelly of all the old marks and reissues. So I fired up my Mark IV.

I fire mine up almost every day.

The more time passes, the more people realize how great the MKIV was/is. A lot of powerful amps have come and gone since then, but the IV works! Instead of using a "MKIV Mode", it's better to have a MKIV. :agreed:

I grew up with the Mark IV metal tones so the 2C+ hype never really got to me. For me it was the 5150, MkIV, and Recto grail tone I was looking for because of all those 90s death metal albums.

Too bad it wont command 2C+ vintage prices anytime soon. They were the most mass produced Marks with no “stripe” or “++, hrg, drg etc” rarity going on for them.

The earliest Mark IIIs (like mine) and the Quad (based on the same) get you close enough to the IIC+ thing that I can't hear much difference at all. It is indeed the ultimate Mesa toan IMO. And the Stereo-Simul 2:90 takes it even higher than the heads alone.

The IV has its own thing and stands on a slightly shorter mountain, but it's still a mountain towering far above most amps. In fact, I'm halfway scheming on a long chassis MKIV head as we speak, just because. I'm always open to a deal on any Mark....and if resale were a concern, you could almost always get your money back (or more) out of a Mark years later if you got into a tight spot. I'd be more likely to sell pieces of toast that appear to have famous faces on them on ebay (this has been done before!) than sell my Marks if money was tight.

Love a fridge. nice looking space yall got, renting or somebody got the hookup?
Renting with the perk of recording every session and storing cabs. Drummer has a house but not carting everything from their basement for practice vs carting head/board/guitar instead .
