I need to move some things around and tighten up the wiring some with zip ties. That is a lot of drive pedals obviously, but I am running it where there are four different sections and basically operate like four amps with four channels.

... my home rig (sorry for the duplicated photo from the "random pics of your 6 stringers" thread). I mostly play with headphones but seldom at daytime and when home alone (meaning no wife nor kids and I'm at a 12th apartment), I'll use these cabs. The novelty here is the Synergy Syn5050 when compared to my last rig picture, which featured a Mesa 2:fifty poweramp instead. This one does the same and more at half the rack real-state. This rig rips big time and the tones I'm getting from it range from crystal clean to really mean with only 1 patch/program. I'll control the Triaxis' Gain and Drive (and Treble, Middle and Bass) parameters with 2 different expression pedals (not shown in the photo) achieving lots of crunch and dirt levels. Combining that with my guitars' crazy amount of switching options, I'm fucking well served...

Somebody say racks? I'll take that as a sign it's time to post my updated setup.

So I moved...about 1700 miles...and I have a much bigger man cave now. It has taken me a while to get everything set back up (other "priorities," dammit) but I'm almost there. I think this is how it will stay for a while, except for the addition of a few small items I intend to add.

Below pic is a few weeks ago, with more clutter.

Heaven is real, my friends, and it's in my basement. :hbang:

@Turd Ferguson can you post a closeup pic of the rack?, please... your man cave sure does look good.

Sure can! There's nothing real special in the rack (by current standards, anyway): A couple old preamps, EQs, power amp, patch bay.

The second smaller "rack" is more of a stack held together by a couple homemade rails.

All the amp (and preamp) FX loops are routed to the patch bays, as are the EQs/floor multi FX, etc., so pretty much everything you see can be chained up in any configuration without too much trouble.

Also, to add even more possibilities, there's a cable coming from my USB interface so VSTs can be routed to a real power amp and any of the cabs.

The GSP1101 is currently in 4CM with the 5150.

I never really understood how a patchbay works or what's for... probably because I never needed one...?
Thanks for the explanation and photos!

Rock On!

LOL. There's actually an MXR 10 band that you can't see in the pics, so I think I got it covered 😁

I actually didn't intend to buy the Behringer but a guy threw it in with the Samson patch bay and some other stuff.

They are all in the FX loops for high gain sounds: the 5150, DSL20, V3M, RD1 and both Hafler preamps all have EQ in the loop. Those are dedicated high-gain only amps (the 5150/GSP1101 in 4CM are an exception, and that's wired so the EQ is bypassed if I'm using GSP models).

For clean sounds I mainly use the Mark V, Classic 20 or GSP models. Although the Hafler Hellrazor, despite the stupid name, has a really great, very Fender-ish clean channel with a push-pull gain pot, so there's a lot of range. It gets very SRV-ish.

I was getting ready to sell the V3M because of its boxy mid-range, but I threw an EQ in the loop and now it's one of my favorite amps.

I tend to buy multiples of things that work for me so when I find time to play I can just choose a rig, turn it on and go. Not to mention I'm lazy and love tweaking knobs but kind of hate cabling things together all the time. I'm about to do this again, probably, with another GUP Tech PDEQ. I bought one that is patched into the smaller rack and I'm probably gonna buy another for the larger rack.

I might have a problem. I'm lucky I got into guitar gear and not heavy drugs. 😄
