Big fan of leaving some room. If you use the airstep a lot you’ll want it horizontal :2c: @Masoo2
I had the Airstep setup the same way with my FM3 and found it to work okay, if anything I'll be using it far less with this and just for preset switches between songs. I may not use it at all in the end, but I'm trying to figure out how else I'd switch between presets and potentially scenes...

tbh probably don't need scene functionality as the stomp mode on the Helix is already so powerful.

those 2/3 button switches that attach to the HX Stomp seem cool but I'd be worried more about them than a vertical Airstep...

noted on your Truetone CS12 / CS11 rec though...

hehehe again as above^

I also like looper pedals at the end of the chain so nothing after influences the loops. It also allows everything to be present in the loops as well. And I agree with @budda about the switcher.

logic on the looper placement: physical looper post-gain pre-wet so I can do wacky shit with it, secondary one-button looper in the HX Stomp so I can record wet loops

double post but rough plan:

any initial thoughts?

HX Stomp will be set to stomp mode while I'll configure the Airstep to scenes 1-3 and preset up/down
Let me try to understand this: Your patch will have up to eight effects. Of those, you can set the three switches on the HX Stomp to turn on/off three of those effects. The Airstep will be used to allow 3 scenes per patch, as well as the up/down to select patches.

That seems pretty well thought out, though some thought needs to go into which three effects you are turning on/off. If it makes it too much like the other scenes, then they might be redundant. I say might, because you may still wish to go that route. However, I suggest thinking about how to maximize the options of the patch/snapshot, as well as the 6 footswitches available to you for the patch/snapshot in order to get the most out of it.

that's the cool thing about stompbox mode in the HX Stomp - you can change multiple effects and parameters with a single footswitch

it appears the difference between stompbox and *snapshot mode is...a bit vague

for example, one preset I've been messing around with has two snapshots: rhythm and lead, each changing amp/reverb settings and bypassing/enabling delay
but also a stompbox-mode switch activating both an octave fuzz and a chorus

I don't see why I couldn't just stick with one mode over the other, but I like the idea of being able to have dedicated scenes for types of tones (rhythm, lead, clean) and then stompbox options to add momentary effects like the built-in looper or FreqOut clone

hrmmmm I'm confusing myself at this point - I just need to get the last two pedals in first before ruining my thought process 😭

took this pic to show off the new value village toan rug. feels so cozy back there now.

both guitars are loaners, neither is what I'd choose but it's been fun playing them. the charvel especially is very nice to play.

the Mic Mechanic has earned its velcro strips. I had the slapback maxed out at our last gig and nobody could understand a fucking word I said, it was hilarious but I think I'll dial it back a bit going forward....
