Went to the mall yesterday. Wasn’t really planning on going but my toddler had a bad scooter fall and my eldest really wanted to go somewhere. My wife had returns…
While I was there I found these rugs for two bucks…

“It really tied the room together…”
Also got this for my picks:

Considering adding the Cirrus to the board as it really ties the room together as well. Also have 3 different fuzz options or a Gehenna that could go on as well. I have two blank spots on my power bank.

Kinda also in a love hate(mostly hate at the moment) with the gate. It’s been doing inconsistent things each time I plug in.

Not sure if I want to add and move a ton of things around since I am really considering a midi controller for this setup.

Hopefully the rug pissers don't show up.

I just got a rug from value village that all my amps and my board fit on, it makes my jam space cozy as hell and really does tie the room together

Perhaps I should invest in a rug as well. Hm.

lol. My wife was like but they are already on a board. Why do you need a rug? Because I prefer to play barefoot annd it makes the space way better for me.
Also the floors are new and cost way more than this awesome rug.
Glad I’m not the only one who sees the value in this…. Way more comfortable, and looks better too. Also, huge toan improvement for cheap!

I'm in the barefoot club, too. When I put my acoustic board together my thought process was as small of a board as possible. There's always enough room to slap each pedal on/off with your big toe. Once I started playing some acoustic gigs, not as a caveman with my toes hanging out, I quickly learned the smallest board possible backfired.

Stepping on pedals, especially a mini TC ditto, that are sandwiched together leaves very little room to get your shoe in there without hitting more than one thing at once. Shoes also got in the way of easily seeing what's going on with the LED while looping. Play through the mistakes and most people wouldn't have a clue. The panic is real when shoes become a first world problem though. It's too bad I forgot about this for another show later this week.

The rug is pretty cool, by the way. Does it introduce any sliding or is there enough weight that it's not a problem?

My power supply only has 5 things on it and one of them is 18v cuz if I have more than that I just fuck around with like 6 fuzz pedals and make noises and don't actually play guitar. I do not have a tone rug because I'm a poser tho :(

The whale pedal is a Civil War Muff clone I got for like $40 at a pawn shop forever ago and it's my favorite Muff style fuzz I've ever had and it sounds super cool when stacked with the HM-2. The Waza one is super good btw and the new voice mode thing it has gives it way more low end and makes the mids and highs less spiky and it's even more rad as an overdrive or as a bass dirt than a regular HM-2 is.

Yea man. I hear the spacing thing. I personally want to have breathing room between the pedals to be able to hit em and not worry about accuracy or lack of it. I went with what I thought was a bigger board until I started considering the switcher. The issue with the switches if I use a switcher won’t be a huge deal on the individual pedals so I can go tighter on the spacing when that happens.

The weight of the board prevents the rug from slipping. I also got this thing rubber matting for like kitchen cabinets I can place under it which would also keep any movement from happening.

double post but rough plan:

View attachment 160637

any initial thoughts?

HX Stomp will be set to stomp mode while I'll configure the Airstep to scenes 1-3 and preset up/down
You can get a male to female coupler cable to leave in the headphone jack of the helix. That way you don’t have to plug in and out of the unit itself allowing you to space tighter.

Big fan of leaving some room. If you use the airstep a lot you’ll want it horizontal :2c: @Masoo2

I also like looper pedals at the end of the chain so nothing after influences the loops. It also allows everything to be present in the loops as well. And I agree with @budda about the switcher.
