Is yours neck heavy? We're you able to find a position for the front strap pin that will kinda balance it out?
What body wood did you go with?!
Not neck heavy at all, Juho did a killer job on modifying the shape to relieve that. I went with maple neck and alder body. Guitar comes out little under 3kg, it’s my lightest guitar after my Strandberg.

That's great!
Never heard of this luthier, but might give him a shot for another custom star down the road, your star looks amazing!
Mine has a 45 mm neck so it's a bit heavier than usual. No idea what the body is made of, I'm guessing alder or mahogany, but like yours it's light. And unfortunately neck dives.
Can you post a pic of the neck joint please?

Probably maple, actually, if it's based off the Anchang model.

So, after 2 years of trying to find my way through this lady's circuits, I finally brought her up her best, she's working as initially intended, both jacks deliver the desired goods when engaged, every option is accessible and working without noises. Fantastic guitar. Just the switching alone deliver 113 different combinations of mags and piezos, she's a tone monster and this rig is crushing! I feel super happy.
For those interested:
- custom wound, Alnico5 pickups by Gorilla Pickups (Italy) according to my specs.
- Seymour Duncan Tripleshot pickup rings for both humbuckrers
- 1Mega Ohms volume pot and tone (not sure on the tone)
- 5 way super switch:
+ neck,
+ both in parallel in phase,
+ both in series out of phase (cool tones here),
+ both in series in phase (massive fat tones here)
+ bridge.
- LR Baggs piezos from factory with Ibanez 2nd piezos attempt (differs from the 1st at the piezo's preamp, which is totally different, although I prefer the 1st gen by far).
- stainless steel frets professionally installed by a trusty local repair shop: GuitarRehab Lisbon.

... and this is the most recent photo of my rig, with the Synergy Syn5050 that hadn't been presente to you guys yet, replacing the trusty Mesa 2:fifty. Same power, half the rack real-state... tone wise, it deliver more than the 2:fifty, because it can be dialed to sound like the 2:fifty... and more, obviously, due to the presence and deep controls.

The one on the left just came in today. It's in pieces at the moment while I give it the full spa treatment... nothing like a fresh board and frets. The simple things in life.

Oooh...I like those. What are they? You need to do a NGD post with info and a review
Those are ~mid-90’s Fernandes H65 models, a precursor to the Vertigo. Made in Japan with the script style logo before transitioning to the block lettering logo, along with eventually moving production over into Taiwan. I’ve had a number of these early ones throughout the years and I always regret getting rid of the first batch (5?) I rounded up some time ago.

This variant, has to be my favorite: the craftsmanship is great and they play really well

Well i finally got my M3 back. Previous owner had the fretboard redone because the previous one had a crack but the fretjob was really bad. Inlyas are different but i can live with it.
So total re fret, and new clear on the neck. New PG, but the whole body was really in good shape, compared to the black one i had where the paint cracked everywhere.
Took a year between covid, and an attempt which i asked them to start over because there were some tiny black stains on the maple fretboard (some black overspray in the paint booth i guess) but here she is, and man.... it's gorgeous, lot of pups combination on that one between single/hum with the little switch.

Also found a Caparison Dellinger FX where the previous owner had a brand new body made from an old dried piece of ash with a burnt finish. Pretty heavy, but it got a N4 vibe that i love and i take back what i said about the capa Gotoh pups. They sounds really huge.

I just posted the NGD thread for this but here's my new main 'heavy' guitar. Sadly for my ESP Horizon FR Snow White, the Caparison blows it out of the water. The ESP was always going back to my good friend and former SS.org poster so this just makes it easier. Very interesting guitar as regards its form - it has a top-mount Floyd but still has a recession for doing big pull-ups on the bar, so as a result the neck angle is like a tune-o-matic guitar, but it feels excellent at any rate.
