Has anyone on here handled the 9 string?

The guitar is obviously the sex from just looking at the pictures. But are there any first hand (hands on?) impressions of it?

BTW Dan, all of those guitars on the front page look amazing. But that 9 string looks especially epic.

I still need to get some more 'pro' pics of this for you Dan... sorry I've taken so long. My brother (who has a great camera) is only an hour away, but I haven't met up with him in a little while.

9's need a little more consideration IMO. They're more of a compromise from bass to treble, there's a risk of string breakage if you tune with a high A (regardless of scale), and you really have to hone your technique to keep strings from ringing out, make your hands more mobile, etc. They're not for everyone.

No worries Tom :D

Do you do fanned 7's?

Absolutely.

E-mail/PM Oni. They aren't just gonna post price/specs on an open forum. :yesway:

Indeed, it can become a big issue when threads stay open for years, plus each one is different.

Fanned fretless guitars would be a sight, now.
I won't likely ever need/want/be able to play on such guitars, but they're pretty serious eye candy nonetheless.

Those acoustic concepts are incredible. Is the soundhole just in the upper section a la Ovation? That's aesthetically awesome, and I'd be curious to know what it'd sound like. Dan, I think you've officially won me over 100%. Screw Schecter, Music Man, ESP, Ibanez, Taylor, and any other manufacturer. I think from now on, I'm committed to a monogamous relationship with Oni.
