I've owned a single Big Stubby pick for probably 25 years of more. I never use it, lose it for years at a time, and that sucker just keeps showing up at random.

Ah that makes sense. I used the thinnest picks I could find for most of my life and then about 5 years ago I finally gave in and tried one of the goofy looking baby picks my old bandmates were obsessed with (thick jazz III) and I haven't gone back since.

Yeah, those are the ones I use for tracking ideas sometimes. They definitely force me to play a bit lighter and have more control, but they’re also ssssooo dark sounding that I will often switch back to the thinner XL’s because they just have more attack.

Similarly to the big stubby phenomenon above, I bought two packs of hetfield sig picks when I was like 15 and I still find them around. I’ve moved 13 times since I bought them.

I've never worn out a pick other than a thin gauge in my entire life. Shit, I only change strings once a year. I think new strings have too much zing for my poor taste in tone.

Usually I just keep playing it, and I dont even notice how bad they are until I hold it up to another one and notice like half of it is gone.

I bought some Tortex Jazz III XLs in a few sizes last week. I have been using the Jazz III and Petrucci Jazz IIIs the last few years, so changing it up. I am liking the 1.14 thickness, so will probably order some normal Tortex Jazz IIIs in 1.14 soon. They have a little more snap than the 1.4 I have been used to. Cant decide if I like the regular or XL better.

What's the best way to get a guitar signed? Misha is doing a clinic near me and I want to try to get my bulb prototype signed. Was thinking on the black control cavity cover but not sure what type of marker would work best on it.

White paint pen or silver sharpie. Then preserve the sig on the cavity cover with the factory film they put on them so your belt/shirt/whatever won't rub it off with regular friction? Just a guess.

Except for one, I still have all of the picks that I acquired the year I started playing guitar (2007). And yes, one of them is a red Big Stubby!

I rarely lose picks. I think I still have all 12 of the Gators from the pack that ny uncle bought me in 2009.

I bought two packs of red Jazz IIIs in 2015 that I still have. Same with the tortex Jazz IIIs I bought in 2016. I think I’ve bought two more bags since then (white tortex Jazz III since I wanted a new color and gator Jazz III).

My secret is that I don’t put them down anywhere when I am playing out of the house. I put them in my pocket.
