Ah that makes sense. I used the thinnest picks I could find for most of my life and then about 5 years ago I finally gave in and tried one of the goofy looking baby picks my old bandmates were obsessed with (thick jazz III) and I haven't gone back since.

Yeah, those are the ones I use for tracking ideas sometimes. They definitely force me to play a bit lighter and have more control, but they’re also ssssooo dark sounding that I will often switch back to the thinner XL’s because they just have more attack.

I've owned a single Big Stubby pick for probably 25 years of more. I never use it, lose it for years at a time, and that sucker just keeps showing up at random.
I bought a 2 mm big stubby when I was in middle or high school that I had for decades. I may even have it to this day lmao
