I guess I’m not as punk as I used to be because at 38 I’m bouncing the fuck outta any show as soon as food starts getting thrown.
I 100% get that, I made it clear at the beginning of our set that we did not consent to food fights and to their credit, nobody threw food at us.

His first three specials absolutely fuck, like, don't tell me you can't watch "Mostly Stories" and not lose it? Even up through "Disgraceful" was still great, even though he was now slimmer and actually taking care of himself, because some of the stuff on that is WILD; like the one about the British lady who hit her head and woke up thinking she was a Chinese born woman? Get the fuck out of town with that one! It's so absolutely baffling but it's just, reality.

I like his most recent special but I also saw it live so that might have helped. It’s not his best but, still pretty funny.

What's the name of that Chinese pick shop on etsy that sells thick picks for like $20 EACH and SSO likes them?

I've been experimenting with one of their thick 3mm jazz picks and I can't remember the "brand" name.

I was gonna order a set of NYXLs in 11-52. My usual set is 10-52 but I wanted something heavier on the light strings. I randomly found these in the house and remembered I ordered them a long time ago. Restrung my guitar with these and I like them. The G and B strings on the Doyle's are thicker than the NYXLs which I like. These strings are super bright, bend well..all the good stuff. I can't speak on their longevity as I can't remember if I have a set on any of my other guitars. I feel like I do but I can't remember. Ah well, time will tell. These are certainly cheaper than NYXLs. I like Doyle, so I hope these strings work out and become my favorites.

We're a couple days in and I just wanna say I love these strings. They feel great, sound great and I don't have complaints. I've been playing them a lot to see if they'd quick deaden like some cheaper strings tend to do but so far there's been nothing. This gauge is exactly what I was looking for and is perfect. I'm ordering these for all my guitars and stocking up since they're going for like 7 bucks a pack. I went to the website and remembered I had an account there. When I went to check to see when I bought those strings, I bought them in 2022. They've been sitting somewhere forgotten about for about 3 years before I took them out and slapped them on my guitar.

This movie has a handful of totally memorable scenes. Got the DVD kicking around but haven't watched it in years, thanks for the reminder!
I have that movie sitting on my queue stand. I have a huge case of DVD/Blurays back in my office, and on the coffee table in the living room is just a little stand that'll hold about ten discs. I keep my, "I really need to watch this soon" discs out there. I too haven't watched it in years, but I love that movie. It's perfect for those weeks where you're feeling like society has past the overton window.
$20 a pick is crazy for so many reasons.
There's one company, can't remember now, that made a $20 pick I actually loved. Your typical Dunlop picks shred in about a a song, or sometimes less, for me. Those $20 picks kept going for months for me. Of course, you still lose 'em every once in a while. I moved to a new house and have been slowly cleaning my stuff out of the old office / studio room over the last few months. I keep finding those damned picks everywhere. No idea how they ended up clear across the room from my usual recording position. I don't recall throwing them at all, but they still ended up there.

I generally just toss my pick after a set and buy the jazz xl’s in bulk. I wonder if we went all math on this between me just tossing picks after a set and others losing their $20 pick every so often, who comes out losing the most money, haha.

I've never worn out a pick other than a thin gauge in my entire life. Shit, I only change strings once a year. I think new strings have too much zing for my poor taste in tone.

I use the .73mm so they wear down pretty quick. At home when I’m just tracking ideas and such I use the thicker max grips sometimes but playing live use the larger and thinner picks, otherwise I’m just gonna shred my fingers with my wild caveman shit.

Ah that makes sense. I used the thinnest picks I could find for most of my life and then about 5 years ago I finally gave in and tried one of the goofy looking baby picks my old bandmates were obsessed with (thick jazz III) and I haven't gone back since.

Caveman br00tz = shredded picks.

For a brief moment in history I used metal picks. It would leave metal shreds all over my pickups.
