This is an opinion of taste, so I understand that there is no right or wrong here. That being said... corn does not belong in a burrito by default. Bought a bean and cheese frozen burrito out of hunger desperation yesterday and that mfer was loaded with corn. I could see if it is a burrito highlighting black bean and corn salsa or something, but there was no mention of corn at all on the label except deep in the ingredients list. corn itself is fine. I like a cob in summer. especially silver queen corn. But I just don't feel it in burritos.

I think you meant "I'm a scooter not a shooter"
Best to tell new people it's not this kind of scooter

I agree because I normally skip it but every now and then a little is okay. Excess corn is not cool.

Correct. I want to drive around on a suitcase.

I think some part of me is still enamored with the Ghost in the Shell briefcase machine gun, but I'm a lover not fighter. So make it a scooter.
Hold up. Fighter is to lover as machine gun is to... Scooter?

Speaking of alt modes of transport, I'm surprised rollerblades aren't more popular these days. They were pretty 'in' for awhile back in the day until the term "fruitbooter" came about and all the cOoL kids ridiculed anyone using them. I used to ice skate recreationally and for hockey pickup games so we'd blade in summer and play roller hockey until winter came back. Had some of my first "dates" (if you can call them that) in grade school at the roller rink. I know they don't look particularly cool but I always enjoyed the feeling of blades.

Anyone remember that movie Airborne? Was campy but I liked it a lot lol

So I was today years old when I found out height surgery is a thing, and apparently short men are going to turkey to have their limbs stretched and gaining 3-4 inches.

What?!
not stretched per se. They literally break their femurs and then slowly lengthen them with surgically implanted braces over a year or so.

I personally find the surgery hilarious because then you have people with the wing span of a short guy, but now he's like 5" taller lmao. They usually look goofy as shit proportion wise.

I grew up in a town where you could ice-skate in the winter from one end to the other, so I did it a *LOT*. I also loved roller skates in the pre-blade era, four wheels per foot, and used them a *TON* during the summer. I tried roller blades, and still have them locked up in the back room, but I could never get comfortable on them. I felt like I was six feet taller and if I went down I was gonna die. Always wished I could though, cause it seems fun. And it's hard to find regular roller skates in my size these days.

It's probably still around, but we had a pretty dedicated couple of roller derby teams in my area - a women's team and a men's team. lowkey a pretty engaging spectator sport. I had to film a match day and had a blast, though I've never rollerskated myself.

Shoot i just remembered i had a 1st gen pair of these abominations. Took soooo many spills because of nothing more than tiny pebbles. The pre-heely shoe.

I was reading about this VS takeover of TGP (and of SSO) on rigtalk, and found this:

View attachment 160630

Did he totally mishear it as "mik"-toast and does he think "mik" is a valid modifier, or did he typo "milktoast"? They're all interesting possibilities, but I like the idea of it being milk-toast. Just kinda soggy bread...

Not sure if Caspar Milquetoaste has been mentioned yet, but now it has. I believe it is the origin of the term but I could be off. There was a comic and a movie about the character.

I had some decent......forgetting the brand....set of blades back in the 90s and even used them up to the mid 00's on occasion. I just didn't have good enough sidewalks or pavement around me later on that made it much less enjoyable.
The forgetting of the brand is now bothering me. Bought them on sale and they were higher end.

Mods, can we move this to the geezer thread? Memory Care Unit?
