I was reading about this VS takeover of TGP (and of SSO) on rigtalk, and found this:

Did he totally mishear it as "mik"-toast and does he think "mik" is a valid modifier, or did he typo "milktoast"? They're all interesting possibilities, but I like the idea of it being milk-toast. Just kinda soggy bread...
I think this is one of those cases like "taken for granite" where the misheard version is at least as applicable to the original intention if not moreso.

Milk toast is hella milquetoast.

TGP is pretty milk toast, but mirror, mirror, who is the prettiest milk toast of all?

These are sometimes referred to as eggcorns
But milk toast is a funny one to me because the only time I see it (milquetoast) these days is when some guy is trying to deride some other guy or group's lack of intelligence, when simultaneously demonstrating their own in this case. It would be like someone describing some overconfident idiot as an example of the donut-cruller effect.

Y'all just ignoring that Narad pointed out that the bone head not only fucked up "milquetoast", but that he misspelt "milk" and we'll got "miktoast" as a final result.

I'm with Narad, this kind of advanced stupid is fascinating.

I haven't used IRs in so long that I found some new ones and went to add them but I can't remember where the IR folder in my computer is. I can't remember the folder path at all and it's irritating the shit out of me.

Search for "*.wav" or whatever the file extension is?

So I was today years old when I found out height surgery is a thing, and apparently short men are going to turkey to have their limbs stretched and gaining 3-4 inches.

Wife and I went to an open mic night at our local music store. I've played a bunch of open-mic nights but all in my younger days and they were always at places like bars and were much less organized. This one that we went to the other night was fairly streamlined and was more players performing as a stage act as opposed to somewhat inebriated players just jumping on stage willy-nilly. I felt like it was a surprisingly large attendance for this kind of "venue"... maybe 30+ people.

There was a sign-up sheet and performers were given maybe 10 minutes or so. Most played about three songs and some were accompanied by drums, harmonica, etc but most were just solo. We didn't stay for the whole thing but noted that pretty much everyone in the hour or so that we saw, were playing some sort of acoustic.

Since we live in redneck usa there was the ad-nauseum George Strait/ Jimmy Buffet thing but also a couple younger dudes covered Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, etc. So not hugely eclectic but at least not all country shit. The stand out for me was this old guy with snow white hair... must've been pushing 70-75 yrs old and he absolutely slayed it. Songs were all original too which was super nice. His style, execution, etc was dialed in... quite impressive.

I didn't play since I really just wanted to get a feel for the scene but thinking that I might dust off these chops and sign up next time. I really need an accompanying bass or rhythm player though so I'll have to figure that out by reaching out/ making some connects. And I don't want to play acoustic cause that's just not my bag anymore.

All in all it was a good time. Wish we could've stayed the whole show but whatever... wife things.
