Brind'Amour just needs to stop talking, as he is making a fool of himself. Games being close doesn't change losing four games in a row.

I only watched the Stars during the WCF and he looked deceptively ordinary. Gotta have a good backup goalie these days to help carry the load (and a backup-backup + a backup for the backup-backup...)

Dubas is now President of Hockey Operations for the Pens... still not clear what that role is actually doing since it has only existed for a couple years.

EDIT: Watching press conference now, he is also going to serve as interim GM.

I believe it would be similar enough how Shanahan oversaw him in Toronto or how Gorton oversees Hughes in Montreal... its like being GM but you hire someone below you to do the job and he holds a veto on the GM's moves.

*Crosby/Malkin/Letang all in their 50's*
Dubas: "I continue to believe in this core and their ability to win the Stanley Cup..." :drew:

EDIT: Moments later I read this quote: "The way I see things is that if people want to bet against Mike Sullivan, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and others, they can go ahead and do it, but I'm going to bet on them and go with them here. I think this is a group capable of contending for a championship". Here I am thinking I was being satirical :ugh:

At least it isn't Bergevin!

Eh to be fair the core performed fine for what they're being paid. Nobody is winning the Art Ross anymore but nobody was detrimental to the team or performed poorly enough that they're overpaid. The rest of the top six were pretty solid as well. The bottom six, defense, and goaltending not so much. Couple that with idiotic moves Hextall made and it is going to be interesting to see what they do to try to recover.

And nobody is in their 50s though with the way some of the guys like Carter have been playing it does feel that way some days
