Well, after owning a lot of PRS Korea Se models over the years, and recently getting two Indonesian ones (standard 24 08 and a Paul's guitar, 2022 y 2023), I got a good deal on my first PRS USA model. It's not a Core model yet, but it's something. It's a 2018 model, weighs 2.9kg, has bass and treble pickups, and everything is pretty standard. I still like the sound of the TCI pickups better, but I'm going to let it grow on me.

Love the CE but the veneer on that Paul's Guitar is stupid nice. The veneer and the subtle carve actually fooled me into thinking it was a Core model at first lol. Mission accomplished then for PRS.

I absolutely adore my 2016 CE24. It's one of the satin nitro finishes that was exclusive to a few dealers that year. Trampas green is an awesome color too!

I did change three things on mine. First, the saddles had to go. I have never been able to stand the rough pot metal saddles on the CE / SE models; the rough spots have given me issue on my guitar tech bench, either catching on strings or getting some weird resonance which was solved by filing the contact point smooth. I wasn't going to deal with that one one of my personal guitars, so I swapped them out with nickel-plated brass.

The stock CE tuners are okay. They do the job just fine. I really wanted to make use of some satin nickel Gotoh SGL510z tuners I had at the time. I figure that the Phase III Core tuners are made by Gotoh, so it was fitting.

Finally, although the 58/15 pickups were really good. I really wanted something a bit heavier, so opted for a Duncan Alpha / Omega set and dressed 'em up with some flame nickel pickup rings, because, why not?

CE's are really an amazing platform. I have had more fun playing on the pattern thin maple neck on my CE than I have over the years with my P24 with its pattern regular mahog neck.

Holy hell haven’t seen you in a long time. I’m stoked for your new guitar and all but it’s cool as fuck to see you back on here. I hope life has been good to you. I really enjoyed your build threads back in the day.

Yes, it's been a long time. I was very young and had very little money.
Now I have my own business (repairing guitars, violins, and electric pianos). It's going pretty well, almost a monopoly in a city of 400,000. I have about 25 pretty decent guitars and my own house. Argentina is a difficult place to live, but hey! What doesn't kill you...
