I got it from Music Store Live and it was $3800 and change. It's really nice so far, and sounds good with both clean and distortion tones.

It came with 13-64s, which I swapped out for 10-56s. Then of course had to adjust the neck and re-intonate, so that was a fun morning. Oh, and I put a couple marker dot stickers on the 12th fret to help keep me oriented.

Like a lot of 25.4" scale length 7s, it's got a bit of a dissonance problem with low power chords on the B&E strings. I'll see if I can work that out or not, or just give in and tune the B down a few cents (which seems to make up for my tendency to really whack the string).

That's gorgeous! I have a 27"-scale Duvell 6 that's all black limba, and it's so cool to see a version with black burst on it. Gives it a very classy look!

Do you have any pics of the hydra? This NGD calls for a family picture.

Also, how does the Duvell compare to the Hydra?

The two sound and feel really similar (no surprise, since the woods are the same and the pickups are similar.

The Hydra is lighter and stays in tune a lot better since it's a locking nut with no tremolo.

I found a 7-string Majesty in the Marrone finish that is just gorgeous. I've always wanted a Majesty but not the gloss finish on the neck. This one is exactly what I've always wanted.

I have two other Mayoneses (both Hydras), and I like the headless better, so this was the one on the block.
