I actually got this a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to wait until I had some mods done to post it. It came with direct mount Fluence Open Core Classics, which I wasn't a big fan of. I had some pickup rings and an EMG 57/66 set installed, and now it's much better. Has a full thickness body with binding on the back and stainless steel frets.

I've seen some people say that these 1000 series are as good as the ESP standard series, but I don't think so. My ESP is definitely a step up in built quality. That said, I actually like the way this one sounds and plays more with the SS frets and FT body. Loving the top on it too!!

Oh hell yeah. Proof, some guitars look better with the rings. Also, there’s no way any of LTD 1000 series play as well as my ESP originals. That doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to play and everything most players would need. Enjoy.

Was it a hassle putting the pickup rings on? Are the EMGs direct drop-ins for the Fluences, the connection plugs and all? What about the puh/pull option?

My ESP is an old standard series Eclipse. I don’t doubt that if it had stainless frets, it would play better than the LTD. But the stainless frets just feel so nice.

I had a tech do it for me as I didn’t want to start drilling my guitar. Apparently the rings were no problem, but the pickup cavities had to be routed out as the EMG’s were too big to fit. Very odd. You’d think they’d make them big enough, especially since so many of their guitars come with EMG’s.

They are direct drop in, but the push/pull would not have worked. I had him rip everything out and solder in all the pots. Did 2 low friction volume pots and a high friction tone pot.

Haha. My wife is Japanese. You should see the amount of Totoro stuff in the house. Even the shower curtain and bath mat!
