Named Clifford simply because it's pretty red, and the neck is massive

    Specs:
    - built by Ayr Guitars (part-time luthier in Ontario)
    - 1pc swamp ash body
    - flame maple neck
    - rosewood fretboard with MoP dot inlays
    - Nocaster inspired neck carve (Fender Thick "U" .980" at nut, 1" at 12th fret)
    - Kluson 6-saddle bridge (on order)
    - Graphtech Ratio tuners
    - Tusq nut
    - Vineham Nocaster pickups
    - 3-way toggle, volume, tone
    - Fender tweed HSC

Love the look of teles without a pickguard. Very clean.

I'm torn, because I don't want it to look like Fender built it but I also like the regular tele look. The finish is actually a bit darker than I had originally hoped, and there's potential for a white/parchment guard to really lighten it up.

    First clips!

I made some clips of the AVRI (still at L&M ;)) while I had it so I could compare to Clifford. I'll be making some tracks with overdrive and distortion as well.

    Since I'm sure some will wonder - guitar->Fractal FX8->Sclarett 2i4->Garage Band (tweed 112 sim)

Very nicely executed minimalist tele. Well done, mate. Judging by Your smile on the photo i’m sure You are having a blast. Pretty maple tho.

    Thanks everyone!

Still trying to decide guard or no guard.

Wondering if the kluson bridge will show up before or after the 31st

If you do put a pickguard, what color were you thinking?

Leaning towards a 3ply parchment (black in the midde) if I go for it. As fun as a wooden guard would be, I'm not sure I want to go that far into "look at me!" territory .

A friend has a clear one on his warmoth, which could also be cool.

I vote flat black 1-ply, but I'm boring like that :fever:

I thought about going black, though single ply is interesting. I'm torn behind actually trying to protect the finish (not sure if it will check over time) or just letting things happen. My 10-year old custom isn't much worse for wear despite being backup on tour for a year.

In other news, I decided to post a clip I made using a dirty tone. It's just 1 guitar dry, but it gets the point across.
