Story first! Just kidding, nobody cares about a story: Well, whoever this guy was, he knew Tom! Signed by Angel Vivaldi! So I got this yesterday. Found it locally, which for anybody that knows Columbus OH, you know how rare this is For those that don't, Columbus is a horrible place for anyone who doesn't want to play Fender, Gibson, and Marshall. I've never seen a Prestige 7 or 8 before. So I got this for a crazy good deal used with obvious mods - Passives (unsure what they are, sound good), removed tone pot/moved volume pot, push/pull, and previous owner had it signed. Was at the store for my friend to try out some amp modelers on the cheap side (he got a HD500X), and we left GC for Sam Ash and found this thing. Plugged into a 5153 and I played for over an hour. Wish they'd have had more high gain amps, since the 5153 is too dark for me, it'd have been cool to try something more my style, but it still slayed. I realized I've bought more guitars than I (probably) should have in the past 12 months, so in order to "justify" this 852, I told the GF that it can be my BDay/Anniversary/Christmas present from her, she liked the idea because she doesn't have to try and find me something for a year The only con to this is that it's almost like the neck is a semi-gloss. Not sure when Ibanez started doing that, buy my RG9 has a slightly less glossy version of it. Time will tell whether or not the gloss gets the steel wool treatment, but for now she's a killer guitar that puts my RG8 and RG9 to shame. Highly recommend these, especially if you get it for a stupid low price like me.
