Paul Gilbert fans should get the NGD thread title...lol!

Always wanted to try one of these so grabbed one a few weeks back. One of the newer BC Rich models....Shredzilla Extreme Exotic...think we'll just stick with Shredzilla. Only got to spend about 45 mins playing it today....pleasantly surprised at how good it is.

The Good: Fantastic build quality...honestly can't find a flaw on it. Great slim neck profile, frets are good...no sharp edges, Fishman Moderns sound fantastic in Voice 1 setting (Voice 2 just seems to be a coil split....I don't like Single Coils). Neck thru construction so super upper fret access. Neck has a satin finish whilst the body is gloss.

The Bad: Has a Killswitch...which will never be engaged ;-) A £1400 guitar should come with a hardcase....you don't even get a gig bag. Stupid model name.

The Ugly: That damn Abalone!! I can live with it but seriously this guitar would look so much better without the unnecessary bling. The finish wouldn't be my first choice...rather have the Red Quilt, Stealth or Spalted Maple version but couldn't find one in the UK.

This is one of those guitars where I don't appreciate the appearance embellishments individually, but I also don't think it looks bad all together for some reason.

What's the neck profile like? How does it sound?

Thanks. It's not a bad looking guitar...just think the abalone is overkill and they used it on pretty much all the new releases. Neck profile is slim...not Ibanez Wizard slim but still very comfortable. Fretboard is very narrow especially at the nut...I'm thinking approx 41.5mm...similar to my Peavey V Type and reminiscent of an ESP Horizon/LTD M series overall.

Oops! Sorry...forgot about this. Yeah very good....actually amazing on Voice 1...insane metal...real face melting metal tones...pretty high output. Voice 2 I don't like all that much...I think it's just coil split and I hate single coil pickups.

Congrats on that one!

I agree, nix the binding and it would look a lot better... Thankfully they did a gloss finish, that helps quite a bit.

I love the color though I prefer almost any color aside from red lol

I don't know who decided on abalone but now that those models have been out for a while, they could redo the whole line, same guitars but just drop the abalone and I'm sure people will jump on them.
Agreed. They all got laden with it apart from the Chuck Schuldiner model I think.
