Jesus, what even is this thread anymore...

Good song, she's a great player, and her stuff with Angel is awesome. I'll check out anything that involves Anders, and this didn't disappoint.
It uhhh... went places.

I'll have to check out her stuff with Angel, I haven't really listened to much of his stuff either.

Angel's stuff is really, really good. The cool thing about it is that no matter what speed he plays at, there's always solid musical and melodic value to it, and he spend as much time on the rhythm as he does in the leads. His newer EP Away With Words Pt.II is a real departure, though. Much less metal/prog oriented and much more diverse. If you wanna check out Angel's stuff, Synapse is the way to go, in my opinion. His other EPs are good, but Synapse is the most mature by far.

I guess I’m a hater but I think Nita Strauss is overrated . She obviously has some talent but I don’t think it’s anything new or even particularly good . Players like Vai and Satriani are imo way way more talented . Many of the videos I’ve seen of her she’s playing out of tempo and it sounds like mindless wankery (her tone is sometimes terrible too) . Spend some time on social media like Instagram and notice the pattern on there . Hot women who are mediocre at guitar get tons of follows , likes , comments .. shit there’s a video on YouTube of a woman with huge boobs who’s trying a tube screamer for the first time and it has near 10 million views (you damn pervs). Meanwhile legit pro musicians have less followers , less views … People like Nita are popular because who they are as a whole , not just for guitar abilities . Obviously companies are gonna want to give her her own signature guitar , pickups etc .. whatever draws people in and makes money for them you could be as talentless as Kim K , it wouldn’t matter .

Legit I don’t think I’ve ever met another guitar player who said “check out this Nita Strauss song “ or anything like that .

I didn't think anyone was comparing her to Vai and Satriani, but she's definitely talented enough to make a career out of it. I get it though, she's not everyone's cup of tea.

Great calls. Nili is so incredibly underrated, and Lari has (in my opinion) some of the best phrasing for any modern instrumental guitarist.
Oh, and Yvette Young, to mention another Great.

I'll say something that people will perceive as sexist, because someone likes to find it everywhere, but "oh well"

Nili, Lari, Yvette do their things, they do guitar with passion and love, while there are other women that play guitar that just want to prove that they're not worse than men, and it's a competition tat doesn't make them better.

Music is not a competition, music is being yourself.

Everyone loves Plini, and he didn't need to compete with Malmsteen for speed to be loved.
Or John Mayer, he didn't need to compete.

But I think a lot of women need to try too hard and then they fall flat.
And it's something that happens to men too, it's not women exclusive.
I think the lowest point of Brian May's career is the solo of Resurrection from his solo albun; it includes a tapping section that is embarassing for his career
He wanted to show off, he tried too hard and fell flat, and he's an untouchable piece of history

This thread was a quick reminder of why I can’t stand most guitarist’s hot takes.

Is that why Angel Vivaldi made this video? You got served?

Dig the song with Anders but whoever mixed that snare is killing me... my buddy just sent me some of Nita's work with Demi Lovato, pretty heavy riffs!
