I watched some YouTube recommended video the other day that reminded me how garbge real djent is. I’ve been on a mild prog metal kick and I was starting to forget that tone and riffs can be complete trash.
Djent is a genre and one that should stay dead.

Gibson just issued some price increases, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Mesa prices go up, too.

Makes me feel good that I got my Jp2c for $1900 bnew from Sweetwater in 2019.

Dang, I thought that was an April fools joke. The only saving grace is I’d imagine a decent chunk of it is going to JP. Though, I have no idea how these deals work.
At this point pricing on gear kind of is what it is... most of it has gone batshit crazy over the last few years for anything high end.

Yeah. I initiated a new rule/guideline I'm following now buying guitars. Working on similar for other gear now too. All due to these increases.
People are mostly spoiled because really Mesa has been under-priced for a long time. Guys are expecting them to keep their pricing inline with import gear and if they had done that they wouldn't be around anymore. Plus I will guarantee Schumacher transformers are substantially more expensive than the old Classic Tones on top of all the factors hitting everybody else.

This is crazy. Mesas are fine amps, but honestly why wouldn't you just save the extra cash at these prices and buy a Wizard or Friedman/BAD/other boutique non-mass produced amp? Theres zero chance that I would pay this for a new Mesa in comparison to some of the other competition.

The crazy pricing is fine for me right now, across the board. I bought enough gear in the last 2 years to cover all my needs and everything else is a distraction!
You realize there is zero difference between Mesa and BAD as far as staff / people building amps etc, right? Friedman has actually talked about going to things like tubes on the boards etc to decrease human error in wiring...
