i could easily see a 7 string SG becoming a djent icon. The design would even work with fanned frets, or headless it could look like a vader.

But thats like .0001% of their market, lol

I wouldn't expect anything too radical. It's Gibson after all and my assumption is that they are getting back to the core products after the reorganization and dropping out all those weird cheapo lines.

Actually, they might be just bringing back more of the hollow body / jazz guitar models.

My crazy wish: A Byrdland "Studio" model. Laminate, not carved with the short scale and no binding etc. Do I see this actually happening? Ever? No.:D

I don't think there's actually going to be anything new, they'll just do what Fender or ESP does and rename and sort their existing lineup differently.

Maybe they'll bring back a popular gap model that's been out of production for a few years and introduce a new color or two, but I don't think we're going to see anything that's a dramatic departure from business as usual.

In interviews James Curleigh has mentioned a "back to basics" approach and has hinted at simplifying things.

I'd like to see the Less Plus/Custom Lite frame return.
It's a shame the Less Plus is only available with that stupid 2015 features. :(

Idk. How often do they announce and release new models after the first quarter of the year? I really dont know. I would think that if they were to unleash a new collection of metal oriented guitars, they would release it seperatley from the typical beginning of year time period. It would behoove them to keep it seperate from the dad blues guys.

Fingers crossed for an RD with LP Custom appointments... I think I would have to buy one of those immediately.

They've been doing so at Summer NAMM since the early 90's at least. There's Musikmesse as well, which has been in April for a number of years now, though their participation has been off and on.

Gibson should get rid of the Les Paul and just make Angus signature SGs.

TBH, every time I am gassing a bit for any Epi or Gibson, I always wind up wanting more Schecters. I just realized this.

I actually like most non LP Gibsons, but there has to be something extra to make me want to buy one since I already have 4.

My inner Gibson fanboy is continuing to explode the sooner we get to the date of when Gibson's new lineup drops.

I already have enough trouble fitting my fat fingers in the 22-24th fret of a 25.5" scale guitar, would be damn near impossible on a 24.75.

I’m hoping for special run colors or something like that. I’ve picked out dome used LP’s on reverb that I’d like, but waiting for one guitar to sell, and also waiting to see what comes out.

Would be cool to see an L6 reissue but I know that won't happen.
