Neat looking, I absolutely love the wood choices/combination for the neck... and sorry for the n00b question but what does OOTS mean?

Damn, those OOTS bodies are out of this world and they certainly are in the right hands that will turn them into guitars.
I don't know which one is my favourite anymore!

    DAAAAAAAAANG!!!

I'm now very curious on how that body was made/painted.

Can anyone share a link or maybe some info?

    I would guess

    1) carve up the surface
    2) spray on a sealer coat
    3) swirl it pretty colors
    4) spray on solid black
    5) block sand off just enough black to show the colors underneath

??? just my guess about how its done...

So I did a little research and I found this picture which has let me to a few assumptions.

I feel like it had epoxy kind of dribbled over the body, then sanded down.

You know, instead of actually carving that texture into the body.

Such a cool concept, I love it.

My eyes cannot decipher/comprehend what's going on with that finish! Amazing!

Hmmm... yeah that does look more like whats actually going on. That is a neat way to finish a guitar. certainly would be able to hide any slight dings or scratches in the body before finish is applied.

Well, trying to put it together it seems theres a multi-color epoxy poured and dribbled all over the surface, then its sprayed with gloss black, then its block sanded to cut away all the peaks and high spots and expose the color, but leaving the valleys in between in gloss black still...

I was thinking the same, the colors don't look swirled so it must have 3 colors of epoxy.

I'm assuming that this technique is being used for some other product and someone thought to do it on a guitar body.

Mad props to that person!

Out Of This Swirled... the company that made/painted the body.

Oh, I wasn't really asking how it was done, though I'm sure it could be figured out.

I was looking at the pics wearing some past-due contact lenses, where it was difficult to see anything clearly

Congrats on securing one of Alans' best works... he made very few of these from what I understand, you and I... possibly one or two other people were lucky enough to get one.

Looks amazing (as always)... keep up the great work!

    Love the neck
