Thought i'd post this here for you guys to hear. Will update this with an actual mp3 using soundcloud when i get around to making a soundcloud account.

Basically ended up playing Sega Genesis/Megadrive over christmas like you do with mates and had to record this! Always loved the music from the original Sonic Games.

Stuff i used...
Pro Tools 7.4
Pod XT Pro (With a Maxon OD808 infront of it)
Toontrack 2.0 - Metal Foundry
Eastwest Symphonic Orchestra Gold

Cool stuff man sounds good!
Curious though is the Maxon OD808 better than the Ibanez Tubescreamers new and old?

Cheers dude :)

As for the Tubescreamers I can't really say if its better or not to be honest as i've not tried any Tubescreamers for longer than 3 minutes haha. Is a great pedal though.

Damn dude! Just goddamn!

you pulled that off flawlessly in both playing and recording! Nice!

Also, the ending made me grin...the classic Sonic "drowning" theme...heheheh. This shit brings me back!

Sounds great mate. I've been trying to do the same thing with some friends for a while but I've never got around to it. Maybe you could try Streets Of Rage next? :metal:

No but seriously, that was fucking awesome :hbang:

I'm curious to your guitar tone, fits perfectly. Which amp model on the XT? You use impulses or all stock?

Cheers Steve!

I never had Streets of rage unfortunately but yea should definitely record something like this with your mates!

Cheers Ruins!

Cheers Wookieslayer! As for the guitar tone, It was just the Pod and the Maxon OD808. I don't use impulses as i don't have an RTAS plugin for convolution reverb for mac. It was just the MS-Diamondplate with the 4x12 Brit T75's with the 57 on Axis.

Obviously I used different EQ's than the one of the Pod, especially 2 notch filters to get rid of Harsh frequency spikes in the tone, but pretty much the same as what i'd do anyway if i was using a real amp.
