PIcs first as always:
First of 2023! So this is pretty cool. I've never really been a baritone guitar guy, but I've always had a soft spot for these ever since they were announced a few years back. I was browsing the GC used section and saw this sitting at a pretty good price and I had some gift cards so I figured why the hell not? This was the sig model for Adam Christianson from Architects before he moved over to Mayones and now he has a signature Aquilla model with them.
Thought some of the design choices seemed odd and potentially aftermarket (the single pickup ring for example) but LSL confirmed with me that this was built in 2019 and the only thing not stock about it are the locking tuners. The pickups are stock LSL ones and they're definitely not my cup of tea so I probably will look to change those out to BKPs. But overall I'm super happy with it. The neck feels very traditionally tele-like, but with stainless steel frets. The build quality is top tier and I can see why people really like LSL.
All in all I'm really happy with it for the price I got it at. It may not stay with me long past the honeymoon period because I think it's a cool piece that would do well as trade bait
but we shall see. I want to put it in the Architects drop B tuning with a low F# and see how that goes so maybe it'll completely win me over once I do that.
Thanks for reading and thanks for looking!
