Okay, first impressions are very positive. It's certainly more useful and better sounding than my EHX 5mm power amp pedal.

The clean channel sounds really good. Works fantastic with the HX Stomp or my pedal board in front. This channel can go all the way up to classic rock levels of chug, with the Rhythm and Lead switch offering asymmetric and symmetrical clipping respectively. Adding the boost means you can be knocking on the door of 80s metal on the "clean channel".

The dirt channel is very similar to that on the full size Ironheart - which I used to own. Full gain can be a little fizzy, but backed off a little with the boost used instead it doesn't sound a million miles away from my beloved EVH 5150 Overdrive pedal. And the dirt channel isn't silent, but it's surprisingly quiet for such high gain.

The effects loop works fine. And I also tried putting my HX Stomp into the FX return to bypass the Loudpedal's preamp. It didn't sound wildly different to just going into the front of the Laney, perhaps a little darker. But it's an extra option there if you need it. One thing to note; there's no master volume after the FX loop, so you need to be careful when going straight into the loop return.

Finally the XLR output sounds really good. I plugged this into my Scarlett interface and tried the Loudpedal with its own cab simulation, and with other cab sims within Garageband.

So overall impressions an hour into ownership are very positive, especially given the price compared to less capable small power amps.

Thank you very much for this review; this sheds a lot of light on it, to the point where it's likely my next gear purchase.

It's more of a bargain here in the UK where the Loudpedal is £189 including tax, which is around $233.
Love that! of course we (across the pond) ALWAYS lust after the Laney's, Vox's, Milton-Keynes stuff :p, the Hiwatt's, Orange's....
(notice i didn't say Blackstar LOL)

A nice to have would have been that you can bypass the tone stack via a switch so you could run something like a HX stomp without the 4 cable method. But this is hard to fault considering the compact nature and price.

You can just go straight into the FX return with a modeller.

True, but you also can't use the Foundry's preamp. And you have to do all the volume control from your modeler. This wont be an issue if you just want to use the Foundry as a power amp. I think I would go with a Orange Pedal baby if that was my intended use case though.

I believe the Laney is designed with the Ch1 switch set to clean and gain on zero as an input for modellers. I have found it works very well with the HX Stomp that way. When testing yesterday I found that I didn't feel the need to just go in at the FX return.

The Pedal Baby is an excellent choice though. I have a Super Crush Combo and that has the same power sections and sounds great.

For the size it seems pretty awesome. I think personally I'd rather get one of the Victory pedal amps if I were looking for something like that, but they are chonkier.

At least here in the US it's also a 3x price difference lol

Also have a cheat code video showing it off

If Laney WERE to put out a Supergroup pedal, especially with something built in something something ahem, Dallas Rangemaster COUGH, my mind would explode.
Agreed, but I don't think that'd work, the original Supergroup was so badass thanks to the power section.

It might not, but then again, to be fair, there are other pedals that are designed to imitate the sound of famous amps already in power tube distortion. It won't be exactly the same, no, but then I don't expect this to be the same as the Ironheart either.

I'd still wanna see it work yeah. AIAB stuff has gotten pretty damn good.
