I have to pull the plug on this. I just got raped HARD by taxes. Literally everything I had saved and more. If my old lady hadn't already received her refund and helped me out I would've been totally fucked.
That plus going on tour in 10 days (massive pay decrease) and having to fund a deposit for moving at the end of the month.....this just came at the shittiest time ever.
Thought I would let you know rather than straight-up flaking like it apparently some others did on the other build.

    Pissed.

Two orders... and only four quotes. This is the last run I'm talking Rob into because people on here said they wanted something

As much as I hate to say this, I'm going to have to pull out of it, I've overestimated my financial capabilities.

Sorry for being a jackass, I really wanted to make this happen! :(

^ that sucks. I'm walking to work & eating iceberg lettuce for a year. Seems like neither order worked out like planned, so I wonder if we could get the 8scale 25.5 - 28 on the 8DC body?

Yeah very few 8 string orders so let's design a third completely new model. That's going to fly

at least the prices on these runs are reflective to the extra work needed on these runs, i feel bad that idiots make things harder but i have no problem dishing out the extra cash

I think people are misunderstanding the intent of this run.

This isn't a "black friday"-type run with a super discount. KxK has done that before and learned that these multi scale instruments involve alot more work than originally estimated.

To my knowledge, Rob's never had these as a regular item on the "menu". But, he's decided to once again take orders for them at a more realistic price point for the work involved.

My advice: If you really want one of these guitars, you should jump on this deal because it's looking like Rob is going to close the door on it once again...maybe for good this time.

Yes I agree. If only I could get in on both, I want a KxK 8 scale badly, but opted for the 8DC for arsenal aesthetics and that spalt top 7DC that sold recently was pulling at me.

Plus, he told several of us no about the 8's, then opened up two different runs,, and could have easily said no to both being such low numbers, but he's making what's ordered, at least for the 8DC. That says a lot. :yesway:

It definately sucks that this is turning out like this:noplease: I had hoped it would do well so I would be able to order another down the road. I already have 4 customs inbound within the next year(2 within the next month) or I would jump on this in a heartbeat.

Have any of you considered selling your bodies for some extra cash....

Well, I havn't been around these threads much but it sucks that there arent too many orders in. I've decided I'll go ahead and put mine in while I have the cash, and if push comes to shove I could probably sell something down the line. Been agonizing over the specs for the past few days though, so I need some help!

A rosewood neck is out of the question, it'd almost add 1000 bones by itself and I dont want it THAT bad . So Ive decided to go with a semi hollow build (8scale, btw), but I'm not sure what woods to use. Mahogany wings at least, but what would be the sonic benefits of a maple or mahogany neck-through, and a maple or mahogany top? I cand decide between a maple neck through with mahogany black burst top and ebony board, or a mahogany neck through with spalted maple top and maple board. All on carve 1, btw. then there's pickups... Any suggestions?

EDIT: btw, if we dont get all 5 orders on either of these, will the orders even happen?
