There's a lot wrong with this guitar but the pickups seem cool as hell.
They didn't sound great, though.

Look, I love Dave as a player, but he's not reaching a huge audience - plus it's a 7, so it even a harder sell. Mongrain used to play a Pro Warrior in Martyr, too, and then had a custom one made.

I didn't buy an original USA Warbird Warrior because of the pickup arrangement back in '91. Jackson seemed to be trying to wrack it from the beginning.
Yeah Dave’s great but he doesn’t have that “I will buy anything this guy promotes” power like Misha. 😬

I'm tired of companies trying to do the dual single coil thing lol. Like sure a split bucker doesn't sound like a good single coil, but a pair of good single coils don't sound like a good humbucker either lol.

Like I know this is from the late 80s but man you still got guys like Fender and even Schevter trying to push this pickup config

Edit: I just realized the Warrior used hot rails, but my point still stands since you're stuck with a weird pickup config and only using single coil sized pickups

I can 100% guarantee you that hot rails and the likes sound like ass.

I haven't liked the Hot and Cool Rails, but the Dimarzio rails are pretty sick. The Cruiser is absolutely lovely in the neck. Stratty tones for days but they have a really nice compression under gain VS a normal single coil that makes them addicting, and the Chopper is pretty damn sick too.

K. But they don’t.
K. But they do.

Alright I'll clarify: If you want something that doesn't sound like a humbucker and doesn't sound like a single coil, but something mediocre in between, then you're good to go.
