It's interesting to see his tastes change. Dude was a 24-fret Floyd Rose Superstrat player for the longest time. In the passed 2 years it looks like his tastes changed; I noticed he was playing a custom Strat-style guitar that looks like it would be the precursor to his Charvel sig a few years ago, before his Fender/Charvel endorsement.

And I wonder how effective the Wilkinson saddles are? Definitely not a Floyd killer but you're solving one of the friction spots.

Aaaalso not surprised to see this thread go full SSO with SS fret discourse lol

The bridge, at least this style, doesn't really have the sort of inherent tuning issues as something like a Bigsby, or ToMs or anything where the string runs extend significantly between the moving bits and the holding bits. Even traditional Strat bridges aren't too bad.

The big breakthrough with locking bridges was the nut. That's where the problem is.

I've tinkered with these bridges/saddles and similar examples over the years and I don't really think there's any special sauce going on. You're still going to need a well cut, well maintained, ideally lubricated nut and either tuners properly strung or locking ones that negate that to see any real gains in stability.

I have put theses saddles on my Suhr Modern.
True, you need to have a perfectly built and setup guitar. No, it's not going to be as good to a Floyd Rose to stay tuned, but it ill give you a nice little extra something. I have fun making dive bomb with it from time to time, I don't end up with a totally unplayable guitar afterwards.

I am hoping Jackson will offer some more options in the American Series this year. A fixed bridge Soloist would be nice, but best of all would a fixed bridge King V be.
