I’m trying to see all the Pantera bashing comments and I can’t even find them through all the Slayer hate. I was never really into Slayer, but for some reason I really got into the God Hates Us All album.

I like that album as well. They do have a few songs that I get in the mood for from time to time but they're few and far between. The older material where Tom starts going rap god and then does the REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH type scream always makes me chuckle. I for the life of me don't know how people take it so serious.

We're also aware that he's probably not a serial killer. Also not a nazi concentration camp physician.

Not even a doctor, most likely.

Indeed. Enjoying stuff everybody else hates is part of being into metal. Or at least it was?

Anyway, I'm laughing my ass off with this thread, it's really funny. I don't need everybody else to like what I like.
'Virtue signaling' is the new 'being into stuff everybody else hates.' Welcome to the twenty-twenties.

I walked out of 4 Slayer shows before sitting through a whole set…..because Pantera was playing after them.

I wasn’t a fan at all growing up, but I dig a few of their tunes now and can certainly understand how/why they have the notoriety they do, just not my favorite band.

Oh god could you imagine a show with Slayer, Pantera, and Insane Clown Posse?

The top three most insufferable fanbases in all of music, all together in one room?

The government would be legally required to nuke that place.
If we are going to do "all music", it would have to be Slayer, Pantera, and Insane Clown Posse opening for Phish. I don't even hate Phish, but try to spend 5 minutes with a Phish-head.

Gonna be real, if I wanna listen to something that sounds like slayer but I want to enjoy myself, I'll put on Nile. Fills that same chaotic niche but sounds a little less dated. They just sound kinda boring compared to modern bands but respect since they were first.

Demiricous does that for me. And they just released an album out of nowhere. Got to listen to that one.

While I’ve walked out of several Slayer shows, I’ve never walked out of a Nile show. Saw them opening for King Diamond the first time and I can’t even remember who the second time. At least Nile solos actually sound like guitar solos and not someone trying to be an edgelord with their fucking whammy bar.

Side note. I used to think that Kerry's BC Rich Vs were huge because of the way they looked on him. Turns out the dude is just short. Everything you ever wanted is a lie.....despair
That lobster claw monstrosity he came out with for the last tour was even bigger than the usual Vs. I'm sure that had a hand in why, every time he came forward to 'solo' I kept calling him the 'angry inch'.
