So I'm having an interesting idea, in theory, that I haven't tried yet..

I wonder if I could use the Helix LT both in front of the amp for the overdrives AND in the FX Loop for the effects..at the same time.

It has 2 separate signal paths.. I could use the first path with normal input and output to use in front of the amp.
And then on the second path I could use the sends & returns and use the effects there.. Wonder if that's possible..

Brother, yes. I do this all the time. Look up 4 cable method, you can even put preamps in the FX loop and completely just use your amp as a power amp and have whatever "amp" you want. A modeler with a tube amp with FX loop is pretty much the most amazing thing about modern tech imho.

I have a few patches that the top line is in 4CM with my amp and the bottom line is all digital modeled version of it dialed as close as I can, so I can record "what I'm hearing in the room".

The first thing to go down would probably be the switches from stomping on them so much, but those are replaceable/fixable.

My far left one doesn't always work super hot these days, but i don't use my floor as much anymore so i haven't bothered popping it open and seeing if it just needs to be tightened or whatnot yet.

I've had mine since they first released in 2015 or whatever it was so it's lasted a long long time so far without any real issues.
in the super long term scenario suggested, a MIDI controller might provide a way to extend the mileage of the switches and other physical knobs.

unplugging and replugging a MIDI cable and USB (for HX Edit) would cause some wear and tear though. I assume standard MIDI in / thru jacks and USB type B connectors are widely available as compatible replacement parts, provided there isn't some odd proprietary modification?

The way things are going, I would be surprised if all that stuff died before the Helix itself becomes obsolete 🤣🤣

I've done all the most recent HX STOMP updates and was wondering why I couldn't see any of the new additions on my computer screen....

I didn't realize that I had to update the HX EDIT also !!!!
Finally, a Reverb that I like. :yum:

Got mine setup pretty much like the last EVH pedalboard with some deviation. I love how you can save each component as a “Favorite” just as though you had a physical pedal with its settings already tweaked to call upon as you wish. I’m digging it so far!

One thing that would be really great in the future or future modelers is if the clean and dirty version of each amp was the same amp. One block so snapshots for clean/crunch/lead could be one amp and save blocks. Also having FX loops not cost a block like a split path or something. One can dream. I'm just now starting to snapshots working, kinda.
