No clips, but I'm currently on the hunt for a good Crate GX example. Suggestions welcome, I know the 130C is good shit, I remember liking the 900, other thoughts?

GX1200H, GT3500H, G120C, G600XL, GT200H (hybrid) and the GX900H from my searching just now.

I only have experience with the GX1200H and GX900H (Excalibur) as my brother had one of each ages ago. I really liked the Excalibur and it sounded pretty good with bass through a bass cab too.

I have a late 80's Fender Power Chorus 2 x 12 and man that mother cuts through the mix.

I had some old tapes of just me and a drummer buddy and I just could not believe how good that shit sounded when recording live. I'd put the volume on like 2 and that was enough. It had quite a bit of feedback but fuck it.

I've bought 3 old solid-state crate amps for metal. 1 arrived non functioning and visibly broken, 1 broke in a week where the reverb and chorus were stuck on, 1 actually lasted! But, I sold it.

My last band’s EP was all Waza and Neural.

I’m not the best at mixing, but have a listen.

Fuck yeah. I love solid state. I have a few diy projects coming up that might become my new favorite tone, but for now this is my goto heavy tone right now. Behringer ultra metal into a hotone mojo diamond. Fuckin rules.

Haha, that’s awesome! That’s a $100 rig right there, and it fit the song perfectly!

Thanks! I love it. Somehow it being cheap makes it more fun.
Absolutely. I think there’s something about really stripped down, basic gear that brings out the punk sort of creativity, and gives the music an immediacy, spontaneity, and energy that gets buried when we try to be too finicky with our compositions and tone.

I've got a Rocktron Metal Planet about 2 months ago and I love it, using it either as preamp in the fx return, or as (the perfect) booster in front of my DSL amp... It's a keeper for sure 😊

I also love a cheap Behringer TM300:

And of course I like my battery powered Blackstar Fly 3 amp...
