Those things are monstruously huge and weight a ton. A buddy has the older model and when he carries it on its case it's just freaking huge and heavy. This one seems to follow suit and I'd be out of interest just because of that.

The touchscreens and UI are really nice, though.

The Cortex doesn't have any kind of editiing software ? From the company that primarily sells VSTs !??!
That just doesn't make any sense.
Right? Well they did promise big updates for the QC this year. Honestly they should make their plugins available on the unit as well, that would be quite huge already.

I had the MX5 on my table and I actually whipped a measuring tape out to check. Well no way I could fit it on my table , imagine bending over every time to change a setting.. Early onset back problems.

A PC editor is a MUST HAVE on these!

I just watched the video and yeah, he was going by the fact the plugin Revalver itself can act as a VST host. In the end it's just the Prime using Revalver's amp modeling + amp capturing tech. Maybe it can be added in the future?
I think this is the idea. They seem to have opened the door to loading VSTs on a floor unit. If so they basically will have stolen NDSP's thunder. We'll have to see if it works out that way.

Not for me. I like my modelers dumb.
I'm okay with modelers being smart so long as they can still function dumb. IIRC, the Firehawk FX required you to use the app in order to set it up properly. Fuck that noise. I think Line 6 learned that lesson though, because they haven't put out any discrete multi-effects units (that I can recall, anyway) that can't be fully configured from the unit itself since then.

My favorite part of the Firehawk FX was the app bug that would immediately play whatever was first in your iTunes library at top volume as soon as bluetooth was connected. Super fun if you had your headphones on.

Looks cool, seems interesting. Already have a Helix and I’m pretty happy with it, but it’s nice when options exist.

As nice as this is, Id rather just get two pedals, one for guitar and another for vocals.
For 1249, nahhhhh.

Not sure what happened with the triple posting lol!

What I was trying to say was, I saw an advertisement from Andertons and saw the price. That is Helix and QC territory money and if it can't compete tone wise or requires excessive tweaking and basically download new VST's then it's a no for me.

I have barely any free time to play, let alone having to deal with all that. I need to plug and chug relatively easily otherwise not going to bother!

Ain't no-one other than dad rockers who don't know any better, buying this unit at that price.
